Am I missing something here? If I got a job in, say, Pakistan, I wouldn't move there with my family unless I was sure the salary would cover my family's expenses. I certainly wouldn't move there and then expect the Pakistani taxpayer to subsidise me and my children.

@GSGB01 Apparently, that's due to cultural differences so it's perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, it's not acceptable to English culture, so it was decided that we don't have a culture and that did away with the issue. We probably don't have accents either.
