The celebrity preacher construct is dying a public death. Good. Christ never promised to build His church on gifted personalities or conference circuits. He builds His church by His Word, through ordinary means, in ordinary places, through ordinary men.

As a Texan, Trump does NOT speak for me. Abbott has never had our backs. Abbott betrayed us during Covid. He betrayed us regarding border protection. He betrayed children when they needed protection from mutilation. He betrayed us on property taxes. No Trump. No.

Thank you President Trump for your endorsement and for standing strong with Texas. You have our back and Texas will always have yours.

This is an annual reminder that is apparently needed more than annually: justification and salvation are not synonyms.

For the most part, 1689 gatekeeping isn’t overly helpful. We’re small enough as it is! Disagreement? Yes. Sharpening? Absolutely. But banishing brothers over not being “really” 1689 is unwise and unfruitful. Baptists gonna baptists!

It may take a wee while, but once you’ve blocked those angry neonomian accounts, Twitter/X is actually a really sweet place for Christians to hang out and enjoy good theology.

@LanceAcree @nocoradio @RScottClark Wrong. Read again. He talks specifically about preaching that takes on a gospel tincture. The whole book is about that very thing.

@1689Nacho @nocoradio @RScottClark Then I must inform you that your post is false. My question had to do with what No Compromise Radio meant by “legal preaching”; contrary to your claim, Ferguson didn’t answer that question anywhere in his book.

@1689Nacho @nocoradio @RScottClark Preaching is usually understood to include the gospel. It would help your cause if you used more descriptive language: law-only preaching; gospel-less, law-centric preaching.

In the New Testament, the fundamental division is between Jew and Gentile, not Israel and the church. The gospel unites both Jew and Gentile into one New Covenant people. While ethnic Israel can still be distinguished historically and sociologically, Scripture does not present Israel and the church as two separate peoples of God with distinct redemptive destinies.

@HacimRamalla1 @JeffTaylorLR This is only in the context of the postlapsarian world though. Literally everything good in that context is gracious.

But even in his providence, God is "gracious" - not unto salvation, but in withholding immediate wrath and allowing pleasure, goodness and justice. As he says in Kingdom Prologue: "These common blessings are not deserved by mankind, but are a benefit enjoyed only by the grace of the Creator in his forbearance with those who have forfeited all blessing by their rebellion against him."

Kline reserved grace for the salvific sphere because grace is not benevolence or condescension. Grace is a judicial reversal: the blessing sanction given where the curse sanction was earned. That reversal occurs only in the redemptive order, only through the Mediator, and only within the Covenant of Grace. Providence sustains the world, but it never reverses sanctions. Grace belongs to salvation alone. #AdamicArchitecture

What’s truly incomprehensible is not “grace in creation.” There is none. Creation and the Covenant of Works arrive together—the moment an image‑bearer exists, he stands in a covenantal order: dust formed, law bound, glory held out by obedience. The temple‑cosmos is the arena; the covenant is the constitution. This is condescension, not mercy. Structure, not rescue. The shock is simply this: God freely willed to dwell with a creature at all. Grace belongs only to the second Adam. #KlineanArchitecture
