Banter aside we as South Africans need to be more careful with how we treat our fellow African brothers. As it is they already think we are pompous and aloof. Botswana opened its doors for us and hosted us so well and we still find things to nitpick about. It's distasteful.

England will most likely be kicked out of the World Cup but it’s good to take your best possible team there. United fans quoting me with Mainoo being added to the squad is funny, Mainoo will likely start any game at the worldcup when England wins their first 2 matches. He won’t start ahead of Anderson or Rice so we are looking at 15-20 minutes playing time at least that’s his level and I trust Tuchel to put everyone in his place. As I said earlier Maguire and Shaw won’t add anything to this England squad.

Tuchel picking some of these over Maguire is nuts: John Stones: Started five league games since 2025 Chalobah: Currently in 8th, mid level season. Dan Burn: Currently in 11th, mid level season. Colwill: Quality but missed the whole season through an ACL Maguire has arguably been playing better than Konsa/ Guehi the last three months. Konsa, Guehi, Colwill & Maguire would be my four picks. Criminal if Tuchel picks one of Stones, Chalobah or Burn over Maguire. Form wise, ability wise and experience wise Maguire deserves to be there and is good enough to be starting. Maguire's experience, leadership, ability from set pieces cannot be matched by anyone else.

They both didn’t deserve to go to the worldcup, they had a very bad season with Manchester United. Finishing 3rd was never an achievement at United but now we celebrate it. Tuchel sees beyond those pr and hype around this our players and made the best decision for England.
