A newly released video shows two men attacking a 77-year-old man who was walking down the street in downtown Seattle last month. The incident was captured by the city's Real Time Crime Center surveillance cameras, which monitor public areas that have been identified as crime hot spots. In the video, the victim is seen walking slowly southbound on Third Avenue, approaching a pharmacy at the corner of Pike Street. Without any prior interaction, two men shove the man to the ground and punch him, the video shows. They are then seen walking away from the man, who is left hunched over on the ground as bystanders walk past him. None of the witnesses to the attack approached or offered assistance to the man as he remained on the ground. Randall Carlson
Randall Carlson@randallwcarlson·
The terminal moraines left by Little Ice Age glaciers are preserved across the landscape worldwide, and what they show is unambiguous - those glaciers reached their greatest extent since the end of the great Ice Age approximately 11,000 years ago. The Little Ice Age represented a cold extreme within the Holocene, not a neutral mid-point in a stable climate system. Randall Carlson's argument is geological rather than political. When sea level rise and temperature increase are measured against a baseline drawn from the end of the Little Ice Age, that baseline sits at one of the coldest points of the last 10,000 years. A return from an anomalous cold extreme toward the warmer conditions that characterised most of the Holocene will, by definition, produce an upward curve on any graph. Understanding what that curve actually represents - a recovery from a cold outlier or something genuinely unprecedented - requires placing it within the full context of natural climate variability over deep time. The terminal moraines are part of that context, and they are rarely part of the conversation.

@end3of6days9 @MAGA_X_Times Everyone’s missing the point why is Uber and Lyft allowed to charge these prices when historically black car and taxi services were available and we’re not even close to those charges why are they allowed to destroy the transportation industry

This guy lands at LaGuardia, checks Uber, and gets hit with a over $100+ charge for a 15-minute ride to his apartment. Instead of paying it, he chooses public transportation for just $3 and films the entire journey: free bus from the airport, two subway transfers, stairs, and a final walk. Timestamps show every step — he makes it home and dramatically collapses on his bed in exactly 1 hour. Sometimes the “inconvenient” option saves you a fortune (and can even be kind of fun if you roll with it). He’d rather spend an extra hour traveling than hand over $100... and I don't blame him. Have you ever ditched a crazy-expensive Uber/taxi for public transit to save money, or what’s the wildest surge price you’ve ever seen?

The first modern school shooter was a sixteen-year-old girl named Brenda Ann Spencer. In 1979, she opened fire on Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California, from her house across the road, killing two adults, and injuring nine others. When questioned about her motive, Spencer reportedly replied, “I don’t like Mondays. This livens up the day”... ...... On the morning of January 29, 1979, sixteen-year-old Brenda Ann Spencer opened fire from her home across the street from Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California. Using a semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle she had received as a Christmas gift from her father, she targeted students and staff as they arrived for class. Over thirty rounds were fired, killing Principal Burton Wragg and custodian Mike Suchar, and injuring eight children and a police officer. The attack stunned the nation—not only for its brutality, but because of the shooter’s youth and the haunting motive she later offered. When asked why she had done it, Spencer chillingly replied, “I don’t like Mondays. This livens up the day.” Her detached words became emblematic of the senselessness of the act, igniting public debate about youth violence, mental health, and gun access in America. After a tense standoff, Spencer was arrested and later pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and assault with a deadly weapon, receiving a 25-years-to-life prison sentence. The tragedy left a lasting scar on the community and resonated far beyond San Diego. It inspired widespread media coverage and cultural reflection—most famously The Boomtown Rats’ 1979 hit “I Don’t Like Mondays”—a song that captured the horror and disbelief surrounding a day that changed how the world viewed school violence. © Reddit #archaeohistories

In May 1991, the White House was home to one of the strangest medical coincidences in American presidential history. President George H.W. Bush, First Lady Barbara Bush, and their dog Millie all developed Graves' disease within the same period. Graves' disease is a rare autoimmune condition that causes the thyroid gland to become overactive, producing too much thyroid hormone. The condition can cause symptoms including rapid heartbeat, weight loss, fatigue, and in some cases eye problems. For the same rare disorder to strike two people living together was unusual enough, but the fact that their dog was also diagnosed made the situation almost impossible to believe. Doctors and scientists were puzzled, and the strange cluster of cases prompted speculation about potential environmental causes at the White House. Some researchers pointed to the White House grounds and the possibility of a shared environmental trigger, though no definitive cause was ever identified. The coincidence attracted widespread media attention and remains one of the most curious medical footnotes of any American presidency. Bush managed his condition and continued carrying out his presidential duties throughout his term. The mystery of what connected all three diagnoses was never officially solved. #drthehistories

In 1899, a powerful photograph captured the Last Giant Silicon Tree, a colossal, ancient tree that embodied the strength and grandeur of nature, located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains This towering giant stood among the largest of its kind, a living testament to the resilience of the natural world. Its majestic presence left an indelible mark on history, a fleeting reminder of a time when the Earth’s natural resources remained largely untouched by human activity. The oldest known tree is Methuselah, a Great Basin bristlecone pine, which is about 4853 years old. The tree measured over 350ft tall with a 60ft base circumference. It symbolized nature's magnificence and fragility, highlighting the impact of human expansion. The photograph captures a group of people standing on the stump, emphasizing the tree's immense size. Giant sequoias, like the Last Giant Silicon Tree, are now endangered, with fewer than 80,000 remaining in California. The tree's trunk had interlocking hexagonal columns, resembling basalt formations. The exact location is not widely publicized to protect the remaining trees in the area. What made the "Silicon Tree" truly remarkable was not just its size, but its enduring resilience. In the face of growing industrialization, scientists, explorers, and photographers marveled at its grandeur, even as many similar trees were lost to logging and deforestation. The Last Giant Silicon Tree came to symbolize both the magnificence of nature and fragility of the environment, serving as a somber reminder of what was disappearing as humanity expanded its reach. The photograph of this majestic tree became an iconic image of the late 19th Century, sparking crucial discussions about conservation and the protection of Earth’s most ancient and awe-inspiring life forms. The image serves as a reminder of the importance of conservation and impact of deforestation. Today, the image stands as a poignant reminder of nature's immense power

Most of our operations are within 45 minutes of Philadelphia, but I have standing instructions for all our operations to never do business inside the city. This means we won't deliver hardwoods, perform any site carpentry or millwork, or repair any HVAC system Years ago we decided Philadelphia was just too antagonistic and malevolent towards business operations to be worth the expense of doing business there

🚨 81-YEAR-OLD WOMAN SUCKER PUNCHED… JUST WALKING HER DOG An elderly woman — 81 years old — minding her business, enjoying a simple walk with her dog in NYC… and someone comes up and knocks her out for no reason. No argument. No warning. Just pure cowardice. What kind of person looks at an 81-year-old and thinks, “yeah, that’s my target”? This isn’t just crime… this is a complete collapse of decency. We’re at a point where even the most vulnerable — someone’s grandmother — can’t safely walk down the street with their dog. Absolutely disgusting. Probably an illegal... hope they catch him!! 👉 What kind of consequences should someone face for this?

Cloris Leachman's final scene in "The Last Picture Show" (1971) was filmed without any rehearsal. She wanted to rehearse the scene but Peter Bogdanovich was against the idea as he thought that it would ruin the scene. Bogdanovich was so happy with the first take, he said to her, "Cut, print, you just won the Oscar.’ Leachman replied, ‘I can do it better.’ Then Bogdanovich said, ‘No, you can’t.’ Bogdanovich felt that way since the scene was so fresh and she was shaking. He knew she couldn’t possibly do it better. She could hardly breathe after filming the scene. He was proved right when she won the Oscar for her performance. P.S: Remembering Cloris Leachman on her 100th birthday! ("Remembering Cloris Leachman, an Oscar- and Emmy-Winning Actor of Stunning Range", Stuart Emmrich, Vogue, 2021 & IMDb)

🚨 “I’M 26… HE’S 60” — THIS COUPLE’S ‘MARRIAGE RULES’ HAS THE INTERNET MELTING DOWN This video is going viral after a couple with a 34-year age gap revealed the "non-negotiable" rules they follow behind closed doors. • No drinking unless they’re together • Mandatory prayer every single night • “Never keep score” no matter what happens • Stay kind and “serve” each other… even during arguments They call it “intentional commitment.” She says these rules make her feel more free, not less. Is this level of structure what makes relationships stronger… or does it cross a line? 📹 credit: gracenfaithg

Update on the mother whose 7 year old daughter was stabbed with a pencil by a Black child at school in Atlanta. There are Black people in her comments that are defending this violence and trying to blame her daughter for being stabbed. Mother: “Even if she was saying some mean things, she does not deserve to get stabbed. She’s seven years old. What is another seven-year-old doing stabbing someone?” Why do these people defend such things?

This kind of mindset is exactly what’s wrong with politics today. Disagree all you want, but the moment you’re wishing harm on someone, you’ve crossed the line. The “tolerant” left have a serious case of TDS… because there’s nothing “tolerant” about cheering for violence. 🔥
