BREAKING; IRAN Taps CHINA'S BeiDou to Target ISRAELI and US Forces in Middle East
Iran may be using a Chinese satellite navigation system to target Israel and United States military assets in the Middle East, intelligence experts say
Iran has been gradually integrating BeiDou into its military systems (missiles, drones, and secure communications) for years, with a full transition accelerating after GPS disruptions during the 2025 conflict with Israel.
BeiDou's advantages include higher precision (potentially meter-level with military signals), resilience against electronic warfare (e.g., Israeli jamming that affected GPS-guided Iranian weapons), and additional capabilities like short-message services for command communications even under network disruptions.

@georgedunbar_ @GrahamDeacon12 @WiltsBirdClub @BTO_Wilts Well hopefully we will pick a few more up. They’ve had a mediocre breeding season at my sites despite lots of aphids.
English

@georgedunbar_ @GrahamDeacon12 @WiltsBirdClub @BTO_Wilts Are there still many about with you George? Most of the local population seemed to have moved out in north Notts although we are still picking a few up as they move through the area.
English

@GrahamDeacon12 @WiltsBirdClub @BTO_Wilts Interesting. We’re having an excellent year for willows up in Perthshire with a bumper aphid year in the reedbeds.

@Brownsvilleted Have you got many yellow wagtails on the farm at the moment?
English

@Brownsvilleted However, slightly concerned that every time I see a picture of you, there is a glass of alcohol in your hand. Sorry half empty glass would be more accurate. 😜
English

@Brownsvilleted It’s a nightjar chick. Likely to be 7-8 days old. Also known as a goatsucker.
English

@2527thomas I Can’t identify that Glen, looks like a fledgling tho?
English

@Brownsvilleted You’re talking to the wrong person I’m afraid I specialised in addiction problems! Looking forward to visiting you and the farm when it’s convenient. Ringed two of these yesterday morning.

English

@PBOprof @Edwardbirding @SussexOrnitholo @SussexBirding Somehow I don’t think it would be the same bird 😜
English

@Edwardbirding @SussexOrnitholo @SussexBirding Fortunately or unfortunately I remember singing and breeding RBShrikes there when camping in the hot Whitsun of 1959 with fellow sixth form students from Croydon. Green Line? bus to East Grinstead and then walk!
English

A lovely male Red-backed Shrike on Ashdown Forest this afternoon. @SussexOrnitholo @SussexBirding

@Rhewitt2 Nice one Rodger. Catching a few adult siskin but no juveniles yet. Had an adult song thrush in wing moult yesterday - looks like it’s given up on breeding this year.
English

@alanball101 Be interesting to see if they were siblings from DNA?
English

@OwenBeaumont1 @_BTO Well done Owen. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of being a ringer as I have.
English

After a few years of training, I'm officially a C-permit licensed bird ringer! Some highlights below from my time as a trainee @_BTO

English

@Brownsvilleted Have you ever had a common bird census undertaken on the farm?
English

@Rhewitt2 Careful Roger. It looks big enough to carry you off.
