🌙 The Nightjars are back on Cannock Chase and their haunting, almost alien calls are pure magic. Last night we ringed a new bird and recaptured another first ringed in 2025, returning to the very same site after migrating back from Africa. Incredible birds. 🌍🕊️ #Nightjar

We had a fantastic surprise yesterday when a Nightjar 'churred' (their song) just before dawn. It soon graced one of our nets. This is the first Nightjar we have ever ringed in the Spring on the Salisbury Plain.
