Familiarity feels safe to the brain and 2. It can be an attempt to try to reconcile with trauma

@finelylesberg @johnvvariety For sure, but being a victim of abuse doesn’t really render you immune to victimising yourself, nor render your behaviours automatically righteous. That’s a significant component of what makes it difficult to readjust

@libramoongal Yes! I am still trying to find ways to show my intention. I think that it’s been harder for me to do this bc I have this lingering misconception that it happens because people just don’t want or care to understand me, and of course I naturally have been inclined to be independent

this is such a great example of what i’m talking about! thank you for sharing! aries venus expressing love or a desire to connect by way of assertion is a very clear example of the detriment experience- it inverts the expectation of venus being domiciled in libra. love and affection expressed through individuality rather than complete social cohesion, which can definitely catch people off guard if they don’t understand your intention - hence the gap that detriment planets need to close to be better understood

having a planet in detriment creates this disconnect between the native and the nature of how they express what the planet represents, i could akin it to a general feeling of being misunderstood that the native needs to go to extra lengths to explain - people don't get it in the first go, which makes sense for the "surprising or unexpected" or even backwards to social expectation (of whatever group or context) the native finds themselves in
