@shitotaur @faceuh8 No, dumbass, in Hollywood, as a major pop star, you fail upwards The fact she was cast in more expensive projects until the horse was completely dead only CONFIRMS the failure of Dick Tracy

@XericDayXploit @faceuh8 Don’t tell me what I was arguing, asshat. I was saying nobody was confusing Madonna with Meryl Streep anyway, and that DICK TRACY didn’t “ruin her career” because of her subsequent casting in League of their Own, or as the lead in Evita certainly showed

@ItsAndyRyan @faceuh8 No, declining a sequel for a long-planned and publicly-declared serial franchise starring numerous mega-stars and legends = mega-bomb Not just “didn’t make enough money to justify a sequel,” in the unique Hollywood eco-system of “failing upwards”

@XericDayXploit @faceuh8 "This didn't make enough money to justify a sequel" isn't the same as "a massive bomb". But sure, it's crazy that studios don't want an 89-year-old man to front a blockbuster film.

@shitotaur @faceuh8 You were in fact seriously arguing Desperately Seeking Susan DID establish Madonna IS a true talent by highlighting her casting in a successful film, the only one of her career, in fact

@shitotaur @faceuh8 No, dumbass, that wasn’t the point Your statement fails to be coherent as sarcasm, or even make logical sense If DSS proved Madge was a terrible actress, there would be no reason for Penny Marshall to cast her in A League of her Own, since DSS was at best a minor success

@XericDayXploit @faceuh8 It grossed approximately $162.7m against an estimated $47m production. With marketing costs and theatres taking half the gross, it's possible it didn't make money, but that's not a 'giant bomb'. That's like when a film makes $47m on a $162m budget, not the other way around.

The 12th house governs loss, isolation, foreign lands, sleep, hospitals, prisons, hidden enemies, expenses, the subconscious mind, and moksha. But the core of the 12th house is not loss. The core is dissolution. Things that need to be released. And wherever the 12th lord sits in a chart, that house becomes the arena where the soul is being asked to let go of something. Sometimes the letting go is painful. Sometimes it is the most liberating thing that ever happens.

Ancient texts say the 12th lord placement is the most precise karmic record in the entire horoscope. It is the most specific karmic placement in the entire chart. 12th lord in all 12 houses - 1/N 🧵

May 14th 1976 - 33-year-old Keith Relf, former lead singer for The Yardbirds, was electrocuted while tuning a guitar which was not properly earthed. The accident happened in his West London home where he was found by his eight year old son, still holding the plugged-in electric guitar. Relf co-wrote many of the original Yardbirds songs, including "Shapes of Things", "I Ain't Done Wrong", "Over Under Sideways Down", "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago", etc. After leaving The Yardbirds, he released a solo single before forming Together (with Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarty). Which morphed into the embryonic classical rock band Renaissance (two albums). Also, Armageddon a British band.

@shitotaur @faceuh8 BS — if she hadn’t been fucking Harvey Weinstein, and it wasn’t already too late to get someone else for LOHO, it would’ve ended there And I’m not the one who claimed Desperately Seeking Susan established her as a “true talent” 🤪

@XericDayXploit @faceuh8 If by nobody you mean Debra Winger and completely distort her reasoning, then sure. And I think you misunderstood my sarcasm - i certainly wasn’t arguing Madonna was a great actress, but Dick Tracy didn’t ruin her film career

@PearlJamPat @selmerapido @60sPsychJukebox Although I’m not entirely sure about it, I’ve heard it claimed the same was ultimately true for Jimi Hendrix That is, he likely would’ve survived his multiple drug intoxication incident if he hadn’t already damaged himself through chronic drug abuse 🤷‍♂️

@XericDayXploit @selmerapido @60sPsychJukebox Okay, that’s really changes things. Gone way too soon, regardless, but I guess I feel a bit better believing it wasn’t a freak accident that caused his demise. Thanks for the link.

@XericDayXploit @selmerapido @60sPsychJukebox I read that the bath thing might have been a rumour or hoax, but the I always was lead to believe that the electrocution due to an ungrounded guitar was the genuine cause.

@shitotaur @faceuh8 And she’s such a “true talent” she was unanimously judged the Worst Actress of the Century by the Razzies, after winning an unprecedented nine times 🤪 She’d probably be on track for worst actress of the millennium if Dasha Nekrasova weren’t born

@XericDayXploit @faceuh8 Yes DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN showed she was a true talent. And she was so hard up after DICK TRACY that she landed a role in the unbelievably successful A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN

@XericDayXploit @PearlJamPat @60sPsychJukebox That’s bullshit. In the UK in the 1970s live and neutral were discrete - it was deaths like Ralf’s (all too common back then) that lead to the neutral being tied ground as it is now. Ralph’s amp was faulty it was leaking DC at about about 640volts - enough to kill an elephant

@PearlJamPat @60sPsychJukebox IIRC, the problem was running a Strat through a Marshall 50W in a British AC outlet with no converter while dripping wet Normally, that shock wouldn’t kill you, but his heart was weakened by a combination of chronic narcotics abuse and an asthma inhaler

@XericDayXploit @60sPsychJukebox Was that really the case? Didn’t the amp that he was using have a ground fault issue and Relf that touched a metal pump while playing his guitar that was plugged into the amp?
