@IndiaExplained Just admit you hate Hinduism and Hindus. Own it.

Classic sleight of hand from an intellectually dishonest commentator who claims to represent the "left." More like "left out inconvenient facts." To begin with, I'm a progressive American who has been a registered Democrat since I was 18. So settle down with this "right wing" nonsense. The assumption that any Hindu American that celebrates the rebuilding of the Ram Mandir is automatically "right wing" speaks volumes about the lack of sophistication and reality in the analysis. You have no idea who I am. Second, I was very clearly referring to the float during the India Day parade, which was modest and peaceful. Take a chill pill, as my high school orchestra teacher, Mrs. Ostrovsky, used to say. Third, this was not a celebration of the attack on Babri Masjid. It was a celebration of the restoration of one of our most sacred sites in a historic and inspiring moment of truth and reconciliation. This kind of commentary is a specious curation of time and history. Why do these "left out all the facts" folks not seem to want to talk about how Babri Masjid was the equivalent of religious extremist settler colonists in the United States intentionally desecrating a Native American sacred space not because that space was of any significance to them, but to send a message to the Native Americans? Imagine if there was a successful truth and reconciliation process about that in the United States which resulted in returning the sacred land back to a large Native American community that was still actively praying there? Wouldn't the progressive left be celebrating that as a powerful step toward healing and progress in our democracy? Does that sound like a "right wing" type of thing in the United States? Give me a break with this nonsense.
