Got stopped by Mumbai Police last night, probably because they saw a Gujarat number plate and a chance to take some extra income home. The cop immediately started listing random violations - speeding, lane cutting, “driving in a hurry,” breaking rules - basically throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. None of it made sense, but he knew that as well. He threatened me with a ₹3,000 fine and asked to step out of the car and come with him to his vehicle. I had an urgent work meeting to jump into once I reached home and zero time for his nonsense, so I asked him to cut to the chase. The "settlement" amount? A crisp ₹1,000. The absolute best part of this transaction? As he let me go, he generously offered his personal "help" if I ever face any issues settling into Mumbai. Customer service at its finest. 🤌🤡 Dear @Dev_Fadnavis ji, please start paying our cops well. They clearly work very hard. But so do the rest of us, and treating out-of-state plates like mobile ATMs is not the way to generate revenue. Fix this. The biggest irony here : The cop who stopped me came driving on the WRONG SIDE of the road (along with half the traffic behind him) just to catch me.

A quick update on my post from yesterday. Today I was contacted by Senior PI Giresh Bane from Vanrai Police Station (amongst other senior officials from Mumbai Traffic Police), who took the matter seriously and personally reached out to understand the incident in detail. I was requested to visit and help identify the location and share whatever details I could, which I did. I must say, the level of proactiveness shown by Mumbai Police has been exemplary. Within hours, senior officers had reached out, patiently heard me out, and approached the matter with empathy and professionalism. Senior PI Giresh Bane and Police Inspector Mahesh Girime were both courteous, respectful, and genuinely apologetic about the experience I had. At no point did I feel dismissed or ignored. Their focus was on understanding the facts and ensuring the issue was addressed appropriately. More importantly, this response has restored some of my faith as a citizen. We often hear about complaints getting lost in the system, so seeing senior officers take personal ownership and act so quickly was genuinely reassuring. I also want to make my position clear. I am not seeking punitive action against anyone. In a country where law enforcement deals with far more serious issues every day, my view is that if a mistake was made, a warning, awareness, and corrective guidance is required as a first level. The objective should be better conduct going forward, not unnecessarily harsh punishment. Accountability matters, but so does empathy. Thank you @MumbaiPolice @MTPHereToHelp for taking the matter seriously.

भारत में पहली मस्जिद केरल में एक हिन्दू राजा ने अरब व्यापारियों के लिए बनवाई थी परिणामतः आज हिंदु भूमि केरल लगभग हिंदु विहीन है। कुछ सदी पहले कश्मीर विशुद्ध हिंदु भूमि थी आज हिंदु बिहीन है, सोचा है क्यों साउथ की एक फ़िल्म में महेश बाबू का एक डायलॉग मेरे दिल को छू गया। जिसमें उन्होंने बोला कि दुनिया में तमाम लोग, हर हिस्से, हर दिन तमाम मछलियों को काट कर, भूनकर, उबाल कर, पीसकर, कच्चा, और तो और उसको सूखा कर के भी खाते हैं लेकिन उसका जिक्र किसी मीडिया चैनल पर नहीं होता, किसी अखबार में नहीं होता अब आप सोचो कि अगर किसी दिन कोई मछली किसी इंसान को खा जाए तो ? उस मछली का ज़िक्र हर अबखार, हर न्यूज़ चैनल पर होगा कि एक मछली आदमी को खा गई। अभी कुछ दिन पहले न्यूज़ीलैंड में एक ईसाई समुदाय के युवक ने मस्जिद में घुस कर गोलीबारी की और कई मुस्लिम लोगों को मार दिया। जिसके बाद न्यूज़ीलैंड की प्रधानमंत्री मुस्लिम बन कर मुस्लिम समुदाय के घर जा रही है। न्यूज़ीलैंड की संसद में नमाज़ पढ़ी जा रही है। न्यूज़ीलैंड की लिबरल महिला ग्रुप हिजाब बांध कर campaign कर रही हैं। नए उम्र के लोग We are with Muslim हैशटैग चला रहे हैं। क्यों 2 साल पहले केन्या के एक मॉल में मुस्लिम लोगों ने 400 लोगों को चुन चुन कर मारा। उनकी लाशों को मॉल की छत से फैंक दिया था। कितने लोगों को उस घटना की जानकारी है ? कितने मीडिया चैनल ने उसके लिए टैगलाइन चलाई ? 2012 से सीरिया में लाखों यजीदी महिलाओं को काट दिया गया। उनका बलात्कार किया जा रहा है। उनको जला दिया जा रहा है। उनके अंगों को कुत्तों को खिला दिया जा रहा है। उनको बेच दिया जा रहा हैं। आपने कितनी मस्जिद में इस बात को लेकर फ़तवा सुना या किसी मौलवी से उनके सम्बंध में कोई बात सुनी ? बांग्लादेश के एक कैफ़े में कई भारतीय सहित अन्य देशों के लोगों को क़ुरान की आयतें पढ़वा पढ़वा के गोली मार दी गयी। जिसको आयात आती थी उसको छोड़ दिया जाता था बाक़ी सबको मार दिया जाता। क्या आपने इस विषय में मुस्लिम समुदाय का हैशटैग या कैंडल मार्च निकलते हुए देखा ? 1989 से 1990 तक कश्मीर में मस्जिदों से कश्मीर बनेगा पाकिस्तान, काफिरो कश्मीर खाली कर"* के नारे के साथ लाखों कश्मीरी हिंदुओं को लूटा गया, बलत्कार किया गया, उनकी गर्दन काट के पेड़ पर लटका दी गई। उस घटना के बाद लाखों हिन्दू परिवार रातो रात कश्मीर से निकल के दिल्ली के रामलीला मैदान और जम्मू के टैंटों में शरण लेने के लिए मजबूर हो गए। क्या आप ने किसी मुस्लिम से इस विषय मे कोई बात सुनी ? कितने मुस्लिम लोगों ने इस विषय मे मार्च निकाला ? कितनो ने कोई लेख लिखा ? पाकिस्तान के Dawn अखबार के अनुसार में हर साल 10 हज़ार से ज्यादा कम उम्र की हिन्दू लड़कियों का रेप व अपहरण कर के उनका धर्मपरिवर्तन कर बड़ी उम्र के मुल्ला या मुस्लिम बुजुर्ग से शादी करवा दी जाती हैं। हिन्दू परिवार पाकिस्तान की कोर्ट में अपनी बच्ची की कम उम्र और कानून का नाम लेकर न्याय मांगते हुए रोता रहता हैं परंतु उसकी बेटी को घर वापस नहीं भेजा जाता। उल्टा कोर्ट लड़कियों को अपहरणकर्ताओं के हवाले कर देता है। क्या आप ने कभी इसको लेकर कोई हैशटैग किसी द्वारा चलाते हुए देखा ? 2002 में राम मंदिर अयोध्या से गुजरात ट्रेन जा रही थी। कुछ मुस्लिम समुदाय ने ट्रेन की बोगियों के दरवाजे तार से बंद कर दिए और तेल डाल कर बोगी में आग लगा दी। जिस में 62 हिन्दू जिंदा जल गए। लेकिन आप ने गुजरात दंगों पर रोना रोते बिलखते लोगो से उन 62 परिवारों के दुख दर्द पर बात करते या कोर्ट में पेटिशन डालते सुना ? बोको हरम नाम के मुस्लिम संगठन ने नाइजीरिया के एक शहर में 10 हज़ार से ज्यादा लोगों को लाइन में खड़े कर के गोली मार दी। क्या आप ने किसी देश के प्रधनमंत्री या यूनाइटेड नेशंस के ह्यूमन राइट्स शाखा को इस विषय मे दो शब्द बोलते किसी न्यूज चैनल में सुना ? उस ही बोको हरम ने 500 स्कूल की छात्रों को एक स्कूल से उठ लिया। जिसके बाद उन लड़कियों के परिवार जनों ने हर किसी से उनके वापसी के लिए हाथ जोड़े लेकिन किसी देश ने आज तक उनकी घर वापसी के लिए कोई कठोर कदम नहीं उठाया। किसी ह्यूमन राइट्स संगठन ने उनके लिए कुछ नहीं किया। इस टाइम न्यूजीलैंड में मुस्लिम लोग जला कर, पानी मे डुबाकर, उनके अंग अंग काटकर, उनके साथ बलात्कार कर के, उनकी गर्दन काट कर, उनको गोली मारकर। *लेकिन कोई इस विषय मे बात तक करना तो दूर, सुनने तक को तैयार नहीं हैं। बल्कि मुस्लिम समुदाय को हिंसा से पीड़ित दिखा कर अन्य लोगों से उनके प्रति सहानुभूति ली जा रही हैं। पर हम अपने विध्वंश पर मौन रहते हैं और ये हमारा मौन ही नए विध्वंश का निमंत्रण देता है
