It's THAT time again. The latest print of my proprietary Casey's Pizza Inflation Index (CPI) is here. Since 2021, I have been publishing independent research on the theft of coveted gas station pizza purchasing power that is the result of inflation debasing your dollars.
2020: $2.50 (cost of one slice)
2021: $2.69
2022: $2.99
2023: $3.29
2024: $3.29
2025: $3.39
YoY change: +3.0%
Since index inception: +35.6%, (+6.3% annualized)
After a year of stability, inflation returns to Casey's pizza.
@GoddessofGrain This makes me think of the weather talks from this winter about all major droughts start in the Southeast. Is this the start of something?
@allthingsf74065 Agriculture has moved to a model where products are assembled in the USA while the parts are imported. That is the most logical end result for the New World.
The question asked was, what decision you would make today for 15 years from now. The iPhone will either cost $3,500 from tariffs, $5,000 or more if made in the USA which is physically impossible. Or a market. Where all your tech, software, workers and factories are located in the NEW bifurcated world. Do you really believe we are near the end game?
If you start the movie "Hoosiers" at 10:07 p.m. and 48 seconds tonight, you'll ring in the New Year just as Jimmy Chitwood hits the winning shot.
No need to thank me.
The Kansas City Royals are going to the playoffs for the first time since they won the World Series in 2015. Bobby Witt Jr. makes his postseason debut Tuesday.
They get in thanks to the complete collapse of the Minnesota Twins. On Aug. 17, Twins were 70-53. Since then: 12-25.
