@340BPatients

The 340B program was formed to help vulnerable patients. Is it delivering on that promise? Patients have a right to know. #340B #PatientsRightToKnow

340B ALERT: The 340B program was meant to help vulnerable patients afford medicine. Instead, hospitals and PBMs pocket billions in discounts while patients pay full price. Now, Congress is considering a bill to make 340B abuses even WORSE! Learn why @patientsrising and dozens of patient organizations are saying NO to HR 4581 #PatientAdvocacy #340B #HR4581 #340BPATIENTS patientsrising.org/bad-bill-340b-…

It’s absurd that a reputable journalist thinks we don’t have public health care in America. The US government spends $2.5 trillion on healthcare every year. That’s more on public healthcare than the entire economies of 185 individual countries. Oh and she thinks murder is ok because insurance a death machine. That’s also absurd.

I interviewed Taylor Lorenz, who told me that woke is over and wrestled with the moral question: Would the assassination of Brian Thompson be justified if it led to a single payer health system? city-journal.org/article/taylor…

A government discount program you’ve probably never heard of is making health care more expensive. The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a federal program that provides discounted medications to hospitals and clinics. It was supposed to help vulnerable, low-income and rural patients access prescription drugs, yet many hospitals don’t pass those savings on to patients. Instead, hospitals pocket the savings and charge patients full price. #340B washingtontimes.com/news/2025/jul/…

Lisa Lurie joined Patients Rising for her second Fly-in and was eager to meet with members of Congress regarding the growing cracks in our healthcare system: denials that stall care, formularies that manipulate treatment options and policies that prioritize cost-efficiency over patient survival. We appreciate your advocacy, Lisa! Thank you for joining us this year!

Last week, I brought families from the @PatientsRising fly-in to meet @SpeakerJohnson. Vickie along with Rocco and his family shared Medicaid struggles: 1M on waitlists, no specialists. Despite $98B in waste, it’s failing many. Grateful for his listen—reform must prioritize our most vulnerable patients.

If a pill that costs a penny to make needs to raise the price to 10 cents because raw material prices increased or a competitor exited the market, that manufacturer will receive an 80% tax penalty under @GovNedLamont's plan.
MacKay Jimeson@MacKayJimeson

CT General Assembly and @GovNedLamont believe they can raise revenue off these price increases and they've created a penalty for price increases above the Consumer Price Index.

Patients Rising Co-Founder and Chief Mission Officer @Terrilox and Grassroots Advocacy Manager Christian Christoffersen are in Illinois speaking about the lack of transparency in 340B hospitals and the options patients have to advocate for themselves. "I want to tell you something. Patients don't have 340B stories. You know why? Because they don't know about 340B, which is a problem," Terry said to a groups in Springfield this morning. "340B is the reason hospital profits are being made, and there's no box that can be checked that says, 'I'm a 340B patient.' If a program is benefitting on behalf of patients, then patients should know they’re part of it." Illinois hospitals participating in the 340B program are selling discounted drugs to pharmacies in 35 states, including affluent areas like Palm Beach, Florida. Many of these contract pharmacies are major chains such as Walmart, or are owned by pharmacy benefit managers, like Express Scripts. If you want to see more accountability in 340B, learn more about our Patients Right to Know campaign here: hubs.ly/Q03pxkvS0

Live tweeting: #340B is complicated — but what is not complicated is this: Patients have no idea if they are a 340B patient. Yet, their illness and the medications they need to treat it are allowing hospitals to make money off of them without their knowledge. Without any benefit to the actual “340B patient”. Focus on patients in Illinois. Do an investigation. Get the facts. Support patients. #ILGA #ILGov #ILLegislature #HB2371 @GovPritzker

Live tweeting: No transparency is a word — it is not enough without accountability. Patients have a right to know if they have been allocated as a #340B patients. Patients receive no benefit of the actual 340B discount— sometimes they get sent to collections. And sometimes they declare bankruptcy. Live Tweeting from Illinois Stare Capitol on the #340B re bill: 2385 — these people are lying. They are not accountable for anything. They are not accountable to patients and are making thousands and thousands of dollars on their backs. Do a real study. Put patients first. #ILGA #ILGov #ILLegislature #SB2371

Calling all advocates!!! 👇👇👇
Rep. Jake Auchincloss 🟧@RepAuchincloss

Pharmacists & fellow drug-pricing nerds—since releasing the bipartisan #PharmacistsFightBack Act, you’ve all been asking how you can help. Here’s how: ask your Member of Congress to co-sponsor HR 9096, the Pharmacists Fight Back Act. Up against the lobby for the PBMs & health insurance companies, I need at least 25 Democrats & 25 Republicans signed on by Thanksgiving.
