🔵 Rangers have played in the Burgh of Govan since 1887 at first Ibrox Park, before moving to the current Ibrox Park just along Edmiston Drive. Supporters who sit in the Copland Stand, Govan East Corner and Sandy Jardine Stand are actually located in the area of old Ibrox.

@3DWithLairdWT @theodorvaryag You should have no precision loss at all in fact the opposite. It may be how you were utilizing the simd instructions.

SIMD can produce insane yields but it's worth bearing in mind that at least some of the yield isn't from the SIMD instructions, it's from disciplining the programmer into writing branchless functions and pipelines the SIMD is the cheese at the end of the bit-hacking maze
John Friedman@johngfriedman

Wow. SIMD is fast. I've gone from: - 8mb/s (unoptimized html parser built on selectolax) - 150mb/s (cython parser built on lexbor) - gb + /s (naive SIMD implementation)

@forloopcodes The React runtime is larger than a lot of classic games on its own. You can shovel our garbage at incredible speed when you dont have to compile it or make sure types matter. Just costs all your ram and perf

why wouldn't the games take lesser storage as they used to before? modern game uis are literally just websites now. modern warfare 3 runs its menus on react and electron. you are giving up 16gb of ddr5 ram just to render a battle pass button nvidia dlss 3 is a software scam to let unreal engine 5 devs skip optimization. why write clean c++ when you can force gamers to buy a 5090 to fake 60fps using a 480p base render? directx 12 was supposed to save us but game devs just wrap their directx 11 code in a translation layer. you are losing exactly 20 percent of your gpu power to a microsoft api wrapper epic games ruined a generation of programmers with blueprints. visual scripting takes exactly 10x more vram than native code. we have people shipping 80gb games who dont even know what a memory pointer is unity developers are just as bad because they refuse to learn memory management. they let the c# garbage collector run things at 120hz and then blame your ryzen cpu when their 2d pixel platformer sucks destiny 2 is 120gb because bungie leaves 4 years of dead seasonal events on your hard drive just in case they wanna reuse a gun model. ur ssd is just a landfill for agile sprints

this game was only 5GB btw. modern game engines killed the art of file compression and optimization.

@tsoding Im going to need a BoolResultFactory implemented so that the code less coupled. Thanks for understanding. We can talk about how youve hard coded "True" and "False" next stand up.

If-conditions are bloat. You don't need them if you have polymorphism.

Using C++ is programming on easy mode. You can write a garbage algorithm and the compiler will make it fast. True programming mastery is demonstrated by using Python or JavaScript. You have to really write the most efficient code under these tight constraints.

@valigo Its even better when the generated code for a small function isnt even the same on 2 different platforms. That was a nightmare bug, cuz ya need to look at the damn machine code to find it 🤣

Why do programmers put "_" in front of every variable like it makes their code better.

@r0ktech if (!Condition) { // log error or issue // handle or early return return; } else { DoWork(); } a ternary is great with compilers that optimize them, but I also just prefer Enums over bools in general.

A British court sentenced 18-year-old Martyna Ogonowska to life in prison for stabbing her rapist in self-defence. The judge acknowledged she was raped but held her liable for killing her attacker. Her sentence was later lowered to 17 years. Her innocence was lost and now her youth has been snatched from her by a rotten legal system.

Stillwater teen Jesse Butler walks free after multiple rape charges, zero jail time. Jesse Butler will serve no jail time. Not a day. Not a weekend. Nothing. Just counseling, curfews, community service, and supervision until he turns 19. This week’s final sentencing paperwork dropped, and that’s why the entire internet snapped at once. Because the newly surfaced details show exactly what he did: – Multiple rapes – Strangulation – Two victims – Recorded evidence – Prior protective-order violation And after all that, he walked out of court adjusting his cuffs like he was late to brunch. Prosecutors originally sought 78 years. Then the judge reclassified him as a “youthful offender” a judge with documented ties to his family. The question remains: why did power protect violence in this situation?
