@TigerCommenter I would feel worse about the quarterback development if several other top QBs from this post-Covid run had also not panned out. I think Caleb Williams is the only true 5-star that’s been impressive since 2021.

Missing and/or not developing back to back 5-star QBs is a problem that Clemson just hasn’t been able to overcome. There’s also a toughness lacking across the entire program that’s been evident since the day BV left. Do with that info what you will.

@ADavidHaleJoint We cannot complain about how the SEC and Big Ten spin narratives to make their teams look better and then put out something like this. Clemson’s nowhere near any caliber of playoff team (and wasn’t last year). ND had two hard losses, but nonetheless, could have won and didn’t.

Clemson and Notre Dame are a combined 1-4. That’s bad. But all 4 losses to top-15 teams by a combined 14 points. Both have obvious issues (ND D, Clem O) but it’s WAY too early to say they’re both cooked. No more wiggle room though. Do or die rest of the way.

@LandonDugg70644 @CFBKings I don’t think anyone has compared the ACC and said it was the same as the SEC or Big Ten. Probably saw a bot account and generalized that to everyone. Nobody has also said Cade was Watson or Lawrence, but you expect a former 5-star to play better in big games.

This is not Clemson or the ACC’s fault. More traditionalists like myself shouted this but no one listened and now they hate it.

There is nothing stopping your favorite team from having a successful year and making the playoff in this format

@ByuSome Yup. Preseason rankings give unfair advantages to certain teams. In this case, the teams you mentioned. It’ll take another couple losses in a row for those teams to even drop out. It’s all a sham.
