What’s the logic behind being upset about the reflecting pool upgrade? It looks nicer?

Progressives have a lot of weird language conventions but easily the most distasteful one is their habit of referring to themselves and others as "bodies". Black bodies, pregnant bodies, queer bodies, disabled bodies etc. It's a thing in the military too except there it's intended to be sort of overtly, comically dehumanizing (e.g. "he's a fat body" / "I need ten bodies for a work detail"); not a term of affection or a neutral description, but coarse, male-coded dark humor similar to "boot" and "bullet catcher." Progressives use the same language but seem to find it flattering for some reason. I do think it's partly a weird sex thing where they get a little thrill out of carnal objectification.

@atrupar Creepy the way he keeps peering over at the camera. He's answering her. She's right in front of him. But he's looking over at the camera as he speaks. What's up with that?

@EsdrasCaleb @NCyotee Prisoner's dilemma is already a binary choice. The button test is not a prisoner's dilemma because the button test has an option with no personal downside. The prisoner's dilemma has no option with guaranteed personal advantage.

Yes, not committing suicide means you can't cooperate. MFer, this isn't he prisoner's dilemma. There's no reason for anyone to vote blue. So there's no reason to vote blue to try to "save" anyone. There's nothing to "save" them from because they can just not take the risk.
CuteAndFunny💢ᵃˡᵗ@CuteAndFunnyAlt

Groups where RED wins, most probably aren't able to cooperate to do anything productive They probably can't return the shopping cart to it's place either

@420BSR @publicinte Actually every poll that has tested this has shown blue wins... so it is harder to get 49% blue than 51% blue based on all available evidence. And it is impossible to get 100% red.

this is the funniest framing to show how absurd the blue pick is press red for $1,000,000 or press blue and if 50%+ do it everybody gets $1,000,000
Hot wings, Hot Takes@cominginhot01

@quantum_geoff @publicinte 0 people die with no coordination if everyone just picks red, which is the obvious choice. If someone says to you can have 1 million dollars or a 50% coin flip for a million dollars which would you choose? So why then would you not choose the same with your own life

@ItsKaSyl @publicinte But it's also easier to get 49% blue than 51% blue, so your advice will lead to countless needless deaths

@publicinte Actually, no it's "press red to survive and potentially kill millions, or press blue so no one dies" it's always easier to get 51% to vote blue than to get 100% to vote red. Especially since children, infants, and elderly get a vote.

You idiots who think Trump is staging assassination attempts. You think he would agree to a plan wherein someone STOPS HIM FROM TROLLING A CAPTIVE ROOM OF THOUSANDS OF JOURNALISTS FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF? This is his dream scenario.

Because people will die if you vote Red? It doesn't matter if it's by the hand of a Tyrant or any other means! Obviously having it be an actual election for someone that would enact the judgement on the Blues makes it more visceral but it's the same thing. Someone has put some buttons in front of you, and said "Make a choice". You're distancing yourself from culpability because picking Red only saves you as a side effect of putting you outside the Blue bucket. Picking Red is "Kill all the people who voted Blue (And I guess that doesn't include you since if you picked this you didn't vote blue)" It should be pretty obvious why voting for an option that will result in billions of deaths is sociopathic whether its by the hand of a Tyrant or aliens or any other way. You are voting for the deaths of people because that will exclude you from being in their ranks. Thats obviously morally repugnant.

@NCyotee This is, in fact, a prisoner's dilemma. Egoist strategy 3+1=4 autruistic 2+0 =2 But over-simplified and with lives instead of points; Just change the prisoner dilemma to: Cheat - Cheat -> both live Cheat - Not Cheat -> not cheat die Not Cheat - Not Cheat -> Both live

@NCyotee The most compelling reason I've seen yet to vote blue is exactly this though: the lots of people will in fact vote blue, and they need saving, and the dispute is over whether to risk your life to save them or not.
