Update: Anyone who has left LA and headed south. You are welcome at our restaurant, 16600 Pacific Coast Highway, 92649. We have a large parking lot, you can stay as long as you need and camp out. We will provide free meals for all of those affected. On this Christmas Eve, the most frustrating & painful thing in my life currently is not our messy politics, not by a longshot. It is something else I have zero control of: a number of friends of mine who are far older (80-95) and are in varying stages of aging—some rapidly failing physically or with their mental acuity, or both. Its so hard when you can’t do a damn thing to help except talk to them, look after them, and try to make sure they are not suffering or in pain. Its painful for all the people around them that care about them who feel helpless to do anything to make them get better, but believe me, its worth the sadness you might feel in order to make your friend or family member feel loved or appreciated. Remember to be there as much as possible for the people you are deeply connected with when they really need your love and attention, whether is a phonecall or a visit. Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah to all of you and Happy 2025. Peace be with you all in any difficult times to come in the many aspects of our lives.
