Boris Johnson failed vetting, yet Theresa May appointed him Foreign Secretary. Dominic Cummings was never vetted, yet had free access to Government and Number 10. Quit trying to bring down Starmer.

🔴 Sir Keir Starmer would have cancelled Lord Mandelson’s appointment as US ambassador if he had been told about his failed vetting, a Cabinet minister has insisted. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/…

One other minor point. Downing Street's spin is bat-shit crazy. The argument by Robbin's allies that he was prohibited from telling Ministers actually supported Starmer's case. They're now taking a sledge-hammer to their own defence.
Alex Wickham@alexwickham

And a Whitehall source says: “One by one we have demolished all of the arguments put forward by Olly’s ‘allies.’ We have the receipts.” The govt is coming out swinging tonight and seems to think it can show Robbins was the one who got it wrong

I’m wondering how @Keir_Starmer will somehow shoe horn in something about Reform UK,the far right or Brexit, when he tries his best to not answer the allegations over the Mandelson appointment. Can’t wait to see you squirm It’s been a long time coming Au revoir Prime Minister

EXCL: Keir Starmer would have blocked Peter Mandelson from serving as the UK’s ambassador to Washington had he known he failed security vetting, David Lammy tells me. The deputy PM also says: - it was “inexplicable” that Oliver Robbins opted to leave Downing Street in dark over outcome. - he was “shocked and surprised” when he first learned on Thursday what had happened. - neither he nor his advisers at time he was foreign sec had known about – or asked for information on – vetting process or its conclusions

We have some of the best counter-terrorism forces in the world. The antisemites should know that they cannot hide. They won’t be allowed to terrorise British Jews and will face the full force of the law.

Government comes out swinging making clear there is no law that prevented Oliver Robbins from informing the PM or other relevant ministers from sharing the outcome of Mandelson’s security vetting. Nor should there be.

NEW: Fresh questions for the deputy leader of Reform after investigation reveals he failed to pay almost £100,000 in tax, benefitting his investment firm… …which then gave big donations to Reform UK. This isn’t going away.

@UKLabour The tax seems to of been paid in income tax, and even if this is found not to be the case, atleast he's not been covering up the grooming and mass rape of little white girls for votes like you Labour Bastards.

If Starmer goes this week, I’m booking a dj for a party in my pub — I’ve never known a more hated, incompetent or divisive Prime Minister in my life.
