@Lou_TireWorld In a recent presentation by a PHd engineer at a major golf equipment company, it was explained how new, higher MOI driver heads provide greater benefit to high clubhead speed golfers than lower CHS players.

The PGA of America members apparently didn't like this so in PGA events there was a limit 16 clubs for 10 years or so. Different sources have between '46 and '48 before the PGA followed the USGA bag limit.

Re-gripped a few of the set and gave them a hit. Amazingly solid feel And the Pitching Wedge has enough loft to hit pitch shots! Here it is compared to a Vokey 52degree How are you meant to pitch with a 43 degree club? #Joke @jamogolf @mikeclaytongolf @RossBakerGolf

Looking at ads from the 50's and 60's the 's' in Titleist or Acushnet is as it is now and doesn't seem to have an upper loop and is more just traced back over the upstroke before the lower curve.

For those that want a rollback. Imagine you travel back to 1910. The Haskell ball had added 15%+ distance overnight. Would you support the tech advances of the time, or want a rollback to pre-Haskell days? Remember it's 1910 and you have zero knowledge of the future.

Probably repeating myself. In 80’s limit was set at 280 yds w/a tolerance of 2% = 286 yds MAX when struck by Iron Byron (Nelson). Dunno where from where 25 yds ref came.

2/2 The course slope rating, par, course rating and scratch ratings used for the above from golf.org.au/royal-melbourn… and randa.org/courseteeinfo?… what is the difference between course rating and scratch rating?

1/2 @GolfAust @RandA Where did I go wrong entering the data. Using randa.org/WorldHandicapS… and golf.org.au/member/dashboa… I get 3 different results for the same course. For a handicap that is worldwide shouldn't one of the RandA results give the same result as the GA result?

@4_rite @fitzygolfpro @mikeclaytongolf With ‘the old 20c + 5c’ test you can see the amount of bounce on sole! The Maxfli is on right, Spalding Top Flite middle, ProSimmon on left. The 20c + 5c doesn’t go under Maxfli, just goes under Top Flite. —-

@fitzygolfpro @RossBakerGolf @mikeclaytongolf a couple of months ago the 3 of you talked about Sydney vs Sandbelt wedges. Do you have any examples of a 'Sandbelt' wedge? What made a good SB wedge in terms of bounce, sole width and how it was used?

@MarchbankAndrew @ewanports Aren't ankle or just above ankle length socks when worn with shorts a fairly recent addition many golf clubs permitted attire lists? I have read prior to ankle socks with shorts being allowed it was below knee walk socks at most clubs and calf length for the progressives.

My response to yesterday’s tweet about the black socks/black shoes, which has gotten me banned from the club. Whilst I respect and appreciate tradition, not progressing with the times will ultimately hinder the sport and in this case, the future membership of the club.

@robelinda2 One of the worst/best run outs that I can vaguely remember is from the early/mid 90s in a State match at the WACA with someone run out from 3rd Man or Fine Leg off a No Ball. One or more of these details could be wrong it was a while ago.

Probably the greatest run out i've seen. Ridiculous.
