Why is it so hard for some people to accept that others sincerely do not share their core beliefs? Why is it easier to assume they’re lying, angry, rebellious, or hiding some secret motive instead of accepting the simpler answer: they just do not believe?

Nobody has spoken to you, nobody is speaking to you, and nobody will speak to you from some supernatural realm … What’s more likely happening is that you’re sleep deprived, stressed out, mentally exhausted, or overwhelmed… Constant shouting and intense praying can also seriously affect the mind and body… Get a bed space (you know where)

Why do I post about God? Because theists routinely exempt their beliefs from the standards of evidence, logic, consistency, and skepticism demanded everywhere else in life, yet insist on special respect precisely where scrutiny should be MOST intense and uncompromising.

Why do I post about God? Because I was taught from childhood that doubt was sin, curiosity was rebellion, and skepticism deserved eternal torture. People who escape indoctrination have every right—and perhaps a responsibility—to speak openly about the brainwashing they escaped.🧵

Why do I post about God? Because I reject the presuppositional arrogance of people claiming certainty about the attributes, intentions, commands, desires, and judgements of an invisible, improbable supernatural being for whom no reliable evidence has ever been produced.

@theerealtao So a parent who has developed a wonderful relationship with God, probably by participating in the ordinances of their religion, should not share the knowledge of those beautiful truths with their children? Calling “indoctrination“ is sort of jaded don’t you think?

Most religions claim to offer truth, yet depend heavily on childhood indoctrination to survive across generations.

Adam and Eve are not your direct ancestors. They are a creation story trying to explain humanity before anyone had genetics, fossils, population biology or the ability to say “hang on, who did their children marry?” Ancient myth doing admin again.

In this life, we learn from our mistakes and the tuff experiences we go thru. We take that knowledge with us into the next life

If God is all-powerful and all-loving, why is a biological system designed to include pediatric bone cancer? Did he intend for that to happen, or was he unable to stop it?

@FANAttIC10 @Danish_SMF We learn compassion. We learn how to sacrifice our time and resources to serve and love that child. She learns to be brave and strong and deal with a horrible situation and to appreciate the good days in the midst of the bad. death is not the end. We take those lessons with us.

@Danish_SMF So when you look back on the challenges you’ve had in life, maybe even some super tough challenges, you can’t acknowledge that you learned valuable lessons about compassion, about endurance, about the goodness of people who reached out to help you? I believe we came here to learn

@DeeWaynee94 I don’t think so Frank… I think they probably know that it is impossible to save themselves without Jesus Christ… It’s just that they acknowledge that in the Bible, God asks us to do some things. Not just confessed that we have faith, and then go on our merry way.

Because christianity can’t decide whether obedience matters. If works affect salvation, Protestants call it legalism. If works don’t affect salvation, morality becomes theatre. Catholics and Protestants just drew the admin boundary in different places and called the other desk heresy.

We really don’t talk enough about how hard it is to disprove something that only exists in someone’s personal belief… Once a person is convinced something exists, proving to them that it doesn’t becomes almost impossible, you just can’t fully do it…

@asantekotoko4 @Olu_Utd14 There are people that swear they have seen and spoken to departed spirits and perhaps angels. To them, it’s not just some belief or opinion they dreamed up, but an actual experience. I get that probably you would not believe a story like that.

@Olu_Utd14 "beliefs" are not real or provable but just just opinions that people refuse to admit they really know nothing at all about said opinions. You don't have to believe your mom is your mother, you know that for a fact. You only "believe" when you don't know.
