@HQmindd The Biblical Law does not protect slavery. It protects slaves. It steps into a world in which slavery is a human universal, and established the principles by which slavery is ended. Christendom ended slavery. "Patriarchy" and the suppression of perversion are moral goods.

If the texts of the Abrahamic faiths are the infallible, timeless words of a cosmic creator, why do their moral frameworks strictly protect ancient human flaws like chattel slavery, systemic patriarchy, and the execution of sexual minorities rather than outright banning them from day one?

Catholic doctrine holds “outside the Church there is no salvation,” meaning those who knowingly and obstinately refuse the Catholic Church cannot be saved, but the Catechism (CCC 846-848) explicitly allows for salvation of those invincibly ignorant of this necessity who sincerely seek God and follow their conscience.

SERIOUS QUESTIONS: Suppose you’re an Evangelical Christian, and you die. When you go to heaven, you discover everything the Catholic Church said was true. You go through purgatory first, and then once in heaven you see Mary as Jesus’s queen on a throne beside him. What do you do? What are your thoughts? Do you want to stay?

Christianity seems like a good deal for murderers, r*pists, and generally bad people. But for the rest of us, requiring a blood sacrifice in order to be forgiven for ordinary human flaws seems outrageously disproportionate. 🤷‍♂️🤨

Science's Secular Success (1) Atheism natively entails that if science is successful, it won't invoke God's will; thus, the secular success of science confirms atheism. (2) By the symmetry of confirmation, that same success must also disconfirm atheism's negation, i.e., theism.

Why is it that when ancient mythologies talk about talking animals, magic fruit, and global floods, we easily recognize them as folklore,but when the exact same elements appear in Abrahamic texts, people are expected to treat them as historical facts? If the only difference is the culture you were born into, isn't the claim of absolute truth just a geographic illusion?

@HQmindd Faith is not believing without evidence. God has provided everyone, including you, through their own personal experience of Creation, sufficient evidence to conclude that he exists, his basic attributes, and your culpability for sins against him and your neighbor.

If God values faith, believing without evidence, above all else, why did he allegedly provide massive, undeniable physical miracles to people in the past (like parting the Red Sea) while expecting modern humans to rely purely on hearsay?

Modern science is highly successful without ever invoking God’s will, which confirms atheism. Because the probability calculus dictates that confirming a hypothesis must also mathematically disconfirm its negation, this success *logically entails* the disconfirmation of theism.

J.K. Rowling spent years telling the world she was standing up for women. Then she turned around and defended posting an up-skirt photo of a trans woman by saying she “chose to dress that way.” Women have been fighting that excuse for decades. It has always been victim blaming and it still is. Your principles don’t get to change based on who the target is. If this excuse is unacceptable when it’s used against one woman, it’s unacceptable when it’s used against any woman.
