Nigerians must continue to pray that someone like myself never makes it to Aso Rock as President. I am telling you now, the very first thing I will do is place heavy restrictions on religion.
Pastors will be required to obtain a permit from the State House before they can operate, and that permit will be renewed every year. Their sermons will be closely monitored, and any preacher who dares to say what my government has not approved will instantly have his permit revoked.
His church, which, by law, will not be allowed to hold more than thirty people at a time (if the thirty-first shows up, he will be instantly remanded in a psychiatric ward), will immediately be converted into a science institute, a public library, or a government re-education center. The pastor himself will be sent to a state-run institution for reorientation, where he will remain until he shows clear signs of accepting the worldview of the state before he is allowed to return to society.

@segalink @otunbafemmy @LagosPoliceNG @SIAF_NG *** I forgot to add that it’s a state university teaching hospital mortuary. I was told it had been privatized.
English

@4getdname @otunbafemmy @LagosPoliceNG @SIAF_NG I believe this will change as we proceed. Every state should have a security trust fund to reinforce the Police budget as well as the contributions from the Police Trust Fund. Funding is critical for effective policing globally.
English

Nothing but the truth. I can attest to the vigilance and excellence of our Commissioners of Police across the country, especially in Lagos @LagosPoliceNG.
We don’t appreciate them enough. Each time they meet their counterparts abroad, they are often asked how they manage to police a populous nation of over 200 million people without an identity management system and reliable operational funding. Our officers are rated among the best, with medals to show for it. Yet back home, their efforts are hampered by many factors that could be mitigated if the police were prioritised by the FG.
The presence of peace is not the absence of war. No matter the prejudice we hold against our police structure, they are doing their best and there will always be room for improvement. As we prepare to implement Mr. President’s @officialABAT vision for state police, we hope and pray that our national security reforms are also addressed for harmony. 🚔
English

@segalink @otunbafemmy @LagosPoliceNG @SIAF_NG The police had to task us, the community, to pay money so they could deposit the corpse. The DPO even added money from his own pocket.

I was also meant to be on the program, but was regrettably out of town and couldn’t submit my thoughts in time (God knows I despise putting a camera to my face).
CP Fatai Owoseni (Rtd) is a phenomenal example of a patriotic officer whose footprints inspire us till this day. Believe it or not, he was the first CP to enforce an internal accountability mechanism in Lagos State. It was under him (2017) that we started getting SARS officers arrested for armed robbery and he made a believer of us by ensuring justice is served and seen to be served.
The concerns he raised are palpable and you can imagine not having police operations funded in a whole year and yet Police officers across the country soldier on to do what they can despite the laxities. Let’s appreciate our officers while holding them to account even as we pray for better training and funding for police activities.
“The police are the public, and the public are the police. Police officers are only members of the public, who are paid to give full-time attention to duties that are incumbent on every citizen” —Robert Peel 🚔
English

@segalink @otunbafemmy @LagosPoliceNG @SIAF_NG Sir, something happened in my community in Ado-Ekiti. We found a drowned body washed ashore in a swampy area. We called the police, and they responded. Could you believe the police can’t even deposit the corpse at the morgue without paying?

@yabaleftonline you said you don’t live by salary ?

@Ebenezer1772640 @dapper_boiy01 @chingyGodson @yabaleftonline lol when you start earning 120k monthly, you will understand. I don’t need to argue with you if it’s manageable or not
English

@dapper_boiy01 @chingyGodson @yabaleftonline There are some people that are not earning up to 100k per month as contract workers. 120k as a contract staff is a manageable start considering the financial position of the average Nigerian
