@Be_like_legend My sister told me she had so many symptoms of ADHD but wasn't hyperactive so she couldn't figure out what it could be. I had to point out that hyperactivity could be physical or mental. If your brain is always going a million miles per hour, it's hyperactive.

ADHD isn’t always hyperactivity. Sometimes it’s sitting in the same spot for 3 hours, thinking of 97 things to do, and doing none. Then hating yourself for it. Then dissociating. Then apologizing. Then repeating. It’s not laziness. It’s invisible burnout.

@heavensbvnny I frickin even brought my laptop and paper notebook into my bedroom last night so I could just pull them onto my lap in bed. But nope.

Not to be crude, but we literally test drive cars we plan to have for 5-10 years before committing to the purchase.

@SageKnowsAll @SussexHenryVIII His size wouldn't matter to some women if he was willing to satisfy her in other ways. Obviously, though, he's not. (I dated a guy with a micropenis. He was a good in bed.)

@SussexHenryVIII He’s essentially trapped her in what will be a sexually unsatisfying marriage bc he likely knew no woman would be interested in him with such a small size. However, a good lover can pleasure you in other way. He needs to learn.

researchers just found that adhd brains literally slip into brief sleep-like states during demanding tasks, not zoning out. not being lazy. actual sleep-like brain activity. while you're awake. trying to work.

@FarrLawrence @gnuman1979 This isn't a man-woman thing. Anecdotally, you might know more women who enjoy talking in the phone, but I know more men who do. Personally, I will do almost anything to get out of making a call. (I'm female.)

don’t care. Is this just hubris of youth (she’s 20) or is this a character flaw? Hard to say. All I know is we are truly on our own & we are fighting an uphill battle to try to clean the air in indoor shared spaces while folks will do whatever they can to undermine our efforts

“I don’t care. I don’t have to care about you or your health”. My co-worker told me this today when I asked her why she kept unplugging the hepa filter in our work space. This just days after complaining about using all of her PTO for sicknesses she’s had so far this year. But

@lightchilduk @NoNonsenseND Same! Though you're the first other person I've heard of who experiences this. I have to make sure I eat or I can forget to eat for days and not realize why I'm starting to feel off.

@NoNonsenseND I never feel uncomfortable from not eating. I do start to feel a bit weak and dizzy after 3 days.

Does anyone else with ADHD feel like they're always just slightly on the outside of every friend group no matter how hard they try? Not looking for pity. Just wondering if anyone else has always felt like they're there but not really there.

@Alonso_GD Here in Canada there is a French idiom literally meaning ‘the carrots are cooked’. I’ve been here twenty years, if a nurse said that to me I would still have no idea what they are inferring. Asking people in certain roles to use plain language isn’t infringing on anything 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s an example ffs! Ok, let’s try this: Pretend you’re a tourist in Peru and you have an accident. The doctor says “you need to rub a guinea pig on you”. What does that mean? Should be easy. Everyone in Peru would understand that idiom.

@jacaphene @cheersitskatie Oh no. Some dress codes absolutely do. My A-cup friend got dresscoded for wearing her fast food uniform shirt without a bra. Same shirt all the guys wore and she was as flat as they were.

@cheersitskatie I'd be tempted to show up with actual serious cleavage the next day. Or turtlenecks but no bra. There's no way the dress code specifies employees need to wear an undergarment only one gender usually wears.

ADHD is to do something. Knowing you have to it. Continuing to sit there. Not getting up. Just... sitting there thinking about it. For hours. Until the anxiety of not doing it finally outweighs the executive dysfunction required to move.

@polypocketknife @B_llSh_tS_cks That's the thing with sort of attitude. It poisons the mind so completely that a (likely cis) man menacing a woman is viewed as a better person than a transwoman entering a women-only space and protecting the woman the man was menacing.

it’s crazy how a trans woman being in a women’s restroom actively prevented a dangerous man from harming a сis woman here and people are still mad at her for it somehow

For me, a habit isn’t a routine, it’s a fragile streak. I will do yoga perfectly for 6 days. But if I miss Day 7, I don't just "skip a day." The spell is broken. The contract is void. I guess I just don't do yoga anymore. That era of my life is officially over.

@Caramello16419 @5Hive @hyunagalx @CarolsCloset I got a really good one once saying “THIS IS THE IRS!!!!! You owe us back taxes! We have teamed up with the FBI and the local cops and we have your house surrounded” 🥴🥴🥴🥴😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 The local “cops” on the official voicemail really got me going

I just got a phone call from a very nice lady who told me that she was calling from "Card Services". She said that a credit card had been applied for in my name and she noticed that the applicant's address is in Michigan while records indicate that I live in Florida. She told me that she was transferring me to a supervisor who would confirm my information so that they could put an alert in the credit bureau for me. Little did they know that I handle fraud at work and that's not how any of this works. Oddly, when I told her that one of my work duties is fraud detection and resolution she hung up. I don't like to think of myself as "elderly" elderly (I'm 67) but this is exactly the kind that many of my older members here at the credit union fall for. NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFO OUT OVER THE PHONE OR VIA EMAIL. No legitimate business will ask for personal information like that.

@CarolsCloset Years ago, Discover card called my mom and said they'd detected fraud. They asked for her card number, etc. for confirmation of who she was. Mom didn't buy it, hung up, & called the number on her Discover card. They confirmed the call had come from them! (Mom cancelled her card.)

@hyunagalx @CarolsCloset In this case, thank them for alerting you, hang up, and call the number on the back of your credit card. If it was a legitimate call, they'll be able to help you. If it wasn't, you're alerting them to the current scam.

@CarolsCloset i'm 25 and i would have believed that phone call :(( how can you tell before your time gets wasted? how much information do they need to steal my identity or money?
