College and high school track and cross country coach. Vol for life. Still bitter about the Phillies 1964 collapse.

Mets have an 8-game losing streak and can't score runs. Here are some ideas why: 1. Soto out (duh) 2. Lindor has neither his head nor his bat in the game 3. Lineup still doesn't hit lefties 4. Swinging early in counts and not making opposing pitcher work. Other ideas?

The Bucs locked up 19 year old phenom Konnor Griffin. They also have Skenes. Are the Pirates building something real? Not sure. But no one is joking about them. Watch the short.

Originally, it was supposed to be Clemenza who agreed to testify against the Corleones. According to Francis Ford Coppola, Richard S. Castellano (the highest-paid actor in The Godfather (1972)) wanted to write his own lines and demanded a large salary increase. Consequently, his character was replaced by Frankie Pentangeli (Michael V. Gazzo), who received an Oscar nomination for the performance. However, according to Ardell Sheridan, Castellano refused to regain the fifty pounds required for the role due to health reasons, so Coppola decided to replace him rather than have a thinner Clemenza.

That sound you just heard was Bobby Jones rolling over in his grave… On live ESPN telecast of the Masters Par 3 contest, Hoatong Li just dropped an F-bomb while taking a photo with Kevin Hart. I love the Par 3 contest, but things are getting a bit out of hand for @TheMasters

This is Clifford Roberts, the “benevolent dictator” who made The Masters into the greatest golf tournament in the world. He once ousted a CBS announcer from A. N. G. C. who referred to the patrons as a “mob”. Were he here today, Kelce and Hart wouldn’t make it past the gate.

Having Pat McAfee, Jason Kelce, Bert Kreischer and Kevin Hart at The Masters is the epitome of ESPN's cultural degradation of sports. Augusta National should be the ultimate place of dignity and reverence and these ignominious dullards debase it with their sophomorish hijinks.

NEW LONG FORM VIDEO: Why The Masters Doesn’t Want Your Money In 2002, a women’s rights activist named Martha Burke sent a polite letter to Augusta National Golf Club with a simple request: please consider admitting a female member. The chairman at the time, a man named Hootie Johnson, responded firmly. He said that someday they might admit a female member, but they would not do it under pressure. What happened next surprised everyone. Johnson called the Masters’ three biggest sponsors, IBM, Coca-Cola, and Citigroup, and told them not to return. Instead, the tournament would run its television broadcast with no advertising. For two straight years, the Masters aired without commercials, leaving roughly $20 million a year in sponsorship revenue on the table. Even today, the Masters continues to operate in ways that seem almost irrational. The tournament is estimated to leave around $250 million in potential revenue on the table each year. They sell pimento cheese sandwiches for just $1.50 and limit commercialization in ways that most businesses would never consider. And yet, despite all of these unusual decisions, the Masters remains one of the most prestigious sporting events in the United States. So what would make an organization run a business this way? Is it greed, elitism, or something much more strategic? This is the rise of the Masters.

@KKuester15 It was a Saturday morning I believe and I was flipping around on the dial and I happened to catch the last half of that championship game by accident. Still one of the best sporting events I’ve ever seen. 15 years later my grandson graduated from West Point. Go Army Beat Navy

20 years ago today - Maggie Dixon passed away. Her joy/passion for West Point and the game is still present in our facilities and on post. A few favorite characteristics I have heard about Maggie: She made everyone feel important, she was passionate, she had a relentless work ethic, no job was too small or too big, and she was LOVED BY ALL. Forever a champion. The goal is to live the way that Maggie lived. 🖤💛

Trump is calling reporters today to tell them he is going to commit mass war crimes next week. GOP leaders need to stop him. Never mind that blowing up bridges and power plants and killing innocent Iranians won't reopen the Strait. It's also a clear war crime. 1/ A 🧵on why:
Rachel Scott@rachelvscott

Spoke with President Trump. He told me the conflict should be over in days, not weeks but if no deal is made he’s blowing up the whole country with “very little” off the table. "If happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country,” he said. I asked if there’s anything off limits. “Very little,” he said.
