This is a cool idea, but building it around Shopify might be limiting long term? Shopify is a centralized platform, so merchants are ultimately subject to their policies. As seen with exchanges, if Monero ever becomes a compliance concern, it’s not hard to imagine support being restricted or removed platform wide. Are you looking at self-hosted deployments e.g. Odoo, ERPnext, Woo etc where merchants control their own infrastructure. Not saying it removes all risks but it does avoid the single point of failure that comes with SaaS platforms. @THORChain is building the DeFi settlement layer for native @monero swaps, solving the issue $xmr has with centralized exchanges. Launch is in 2-3 months, but this also raises the same question: when regulatory pressure increases, how stoppable really is the system code.

unpopular opinion: Monero adoption won't happen through exchanges it'll happen when merchants start accepting it @privcartcom is a Shopify plugin that lets stores take XMR (and BTC, ETH, SOL, stablecoins) with no KYC, no chargebacks, 1% flat fee, non-custodial you keep your keys. we handle the infrastructure this is how real adoption works.

Spent a good chunk of the day going down the THORChain + Monero rabbit hole. Started with simple questions like “why didn’t they integrate privacy coins sooner?” and ended up learning the full technical flow: SGX enclaves running full Monero nodes, FROST threshold signatures so no single node ever holds the private key, one-time stealth addresses, encrypted confirmations, and how the enclave only verifies the deposit while staying blind to the swap destination. The more I understood, the more I realized something deeper. THORChain privacy vaults and Monero mining are both largely driven by pure conviction, not economics. THORChain node operators are paying $2,000–$3,000/month out of pocket, bonding six-figure RUNE, earning barely enough to break even (or less), and still keeping the nodes online. Monero miners have an almost symbolic tail emission and have been grinding for years with very little financial upside. They’re not doing it for quick profits. They’re doing it because they genuinely believe in decentralized, private, censorship-resistant infrastructure. In a world full of hype, airdrop farmers, and short-term traders, watching people quietly sacrifice time and money for their principles is genuinely inspiring. Huge respect to the THORChain node runners and the Monero community. Real belief is rare these days. Great post man. That same rabbit hole is what pulled me in. Holding, bonding $rune has been a journey, not an easy road by any stretch! The volatility, the doubt, and some decisions made at a technical level most of us did not fully understand have really tested that conviction at times. But posts like this remind you why you stayed. Guys, this article Chad posted is extremely important. This is why I am always harping on increasing the decentralization of the network. I am telling you with 100% certainty the "machine" will not tolerate a "killable" THORChain. Do not be put at ease with the gov narrative of embracing crypto, they have absolutely ZERO desire to be replaced. It's a psyop to give you a faux sense of security. Once they get their retarded, alternative infrastructure in place, they will come. They WILL. Our job is to become so essential, hardy and capture the political narrative that they reluctantly capitulate. We all know our ethos is absolutely correct. We must endure long enough for the world to rally to our worldview. We are a niche topic rn, this will take time. Pls, do what you can to educate the masses on this battle for humanity and especially the futures of the unborn.
