@jillneimark @envidreamz Outdoors isn't magic. Transmission via fleeting contact was known since the delta variant in 2021.

@envidreamz Wrong. If you wear a well fitting mask in public indoors, do outdoor activities, keep track of wastewater and stay home during surges you can likely avoid COVID and other airborne illnesses. Not foolproof but I know many such.

“I’ve never had Covid,” they say… Well I don’t believe it. Covid is airborne. We have had 12 waves. And unless you have been in total isolation at the top of the Swiss Alps and have not seen another single living thing besides maybe a Yak on the mountain top and you’ve worn Level 3 Biohazard hazmat suit precautions when you go out… then well… 🤷‍♀️

@ccheetham83 @RepKeithAmmon Imagine how things could have gone if Iran had agreed to halt their weapons program and allow international inspections to verify compliance. Oh, wait, they did, but b/c a Democratic President got the deal done, the GOP fought it and Trump pulled out in his 1st term.

"COVID-19 in children caused persistent reduction in LV GLS, indicating subclinical dysfunction. GLS reduction was > in moderate to severe cases, showing severity-dependent myocardial changes. Even without overt disease, COVID may cause lasting subtle 🫀 impairment in children."

@SalvMattera I noticed the increase in ATRs just through casual consumption of news - not even deep dives on player stats/health. I suspected that it was COVID as well.

This study further strengthens my hypothesis that COVID is behind the epidemic of Achilles Tendon Ruptures in major sports. It found a 212% increased risk of developing mixed connective tissue disease after infection. If SARS2 is triggering an autoimmune attack on connective tissues, the Achilles tendon is a prime target for degradation, making it susceptible to rupture under normal loads. Further, the study indicates a 215% increased risk of inflamed blood vessels. The Achilles tendon has poor blood flow. Without adequate blood flow, the tendon cannot repair micro-tears from daily use, leading to degeneration and eventual rupture. As I've said before though, to be fair, there are other factors, like the NFL adding a 17th game. In a world with COVID, athletes bodies are going to be more fragile. Sports should be reducing their workload, not asking them to do more.

@Themislv_vls I remember reading early on about researchers finding elevated biomarkers for blood vessel damage in children after a covid infection. The claim that covid doesn't affect children has always been rooted in dishonesty. chop.edu/news/chop-rese…

@DonEford And here's almost a month later where you can see sustained test positivity among all pediatric age groups before it starts to fall (except for FEMA Region 9).

Don Ford - The People's Strategist -
We didn't expose children to early Omicron variants. And it's good that we didn't, but this is likely why we're seeing patterns of more severe disease in children from BA.3.2. It just hasn't changed that much from the original version. A similar thing happened during the black plague, where it would come in 10 or so-year waves, and the later waves primarily killed children who had not been previously exposed or older, immunocompromised elderly. I assume the low vaccination rate in children is also a major factor, and even then, we're outside the narrow window of protection offered by the seasonal mRNA. I would be interested in seeing vaccination rates among these hospitalized children, as I would assume most are not vaccinated against SARS2. Just another reason we need pediatric Novavax approved for longer protection against more variants.

@DonEford This is test positivity by age group from the Community Profile Report from Jan 12, 2022. I don't see anything that indicates that children weren't being infected with the original omicron variant less than adults. OTOH, it looks like kids 12-17 drove the omicron wave.

@EastEndJoe @mmpadellan @CthulhuRules Just because he didn't surround himself with idiots, doesn't mean he surrounded himself with smart people. He said he was going to listen to the scientists on COVID, and then handed COVID policy over to a private-equity vulture who implemented Trump's COIVD strategy.

It bears mentioning that nobody ever lost sleep wondering if President Biden was going to commit war crimes or drop nukes on another country. They called him Sleepy Joe because we could sleep peacefully.

**MICROSOFT JUST BUTCHERED 10,000 WORKERS THEN HIRED THEM BACK AS CONTRACTORS WITHOUT BENEFITS FOR 40% LESS PAY** Satya Nadella executed the most diabolical workforce scam in corporate history Workers got terminated in January with the standard "difficult business decisions" bullshit email Then March rolls around and suddenly Microsoft needs "consulting talent" for the exact same fucking roles Same desk. Same computer. Same projects. But now you're a contractor with zero healthcare, zero PTO, zero job security I'm hearing from sources inside that over 60% of the "eliminated" engineers are back doing identical work for $85K instead of $140K Microsoft spent $72.4 BILLION on AI infrastructure in six months while orchestrating this contractor swap scheme Stock buybacks hit $26 BILLION last year while they gutted full-time headcount to boost margins The best part? HR is telling the contractors this is "more flexible for everyone involved" Translation: we get the same output for 60 cents on the dollar and you get to pay your own healthcare Satya made $79.1 MILLION last year executing this labor arbitrage masterpiece If your company just announced "workforce optimization" followed by mysterious contractor job postings, you're about to get fucked the exact same way They're not automating you out of existence. They're turning you into a gig worker with a computer science degree
