NEW: 1,477 unread text messages, 829 unlistened-to voicemails, 14 minutes of family time on average each day, and phone calls from President Trump at all hours of the night. My profile into the life of Speaker Mike Johnson, who has one of the most politically fraught and exhausting jobs in the country. 🚨 In a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court ruled that federal law does not require mail-in ballots to be received by Election Day, holding that states may count ballots postmarked by Election Day but received afterward if state law allows it.

What this means is that the jury verdict that determined that @realDonaldTrump had sexually abused my friend E. Jean Carroll by penetrating her vagina with his fingers, and therefore had defamed her by denying that he had done so, will stand as a final and conclusive judgment. The highly respected district judge who tried the case, the Hon. Lewis A. Kaplan, correctly stated multiple times that the jury's finding of sexual abuse under New York law meant that, in common parlance and under the law of most jurisdictions, Donald Trump was found to have raped E. Jean. So henceforth and forever more, it will be completely accurate—and utterly inactionable under the common and constitutional law of defamation—to state the following fact: DONALD J. TRUMP IS AN ADJUDICATED RAPIST.

Ok so this is a bit of a departure for @schoolofwarpod, but today we talk to John Mitani, whose work among the apes in Africa includes documenting an extraordinary multi-year civil war within a group of chimps. Some really interesting insights on the origins of violence and war.
