Something I told 14 yo: There's a kind of politician who tells people "Your life is bad because <outgroup> stole what's rightfully yours. Vote for me and I'll get it back for you." They do it on both the left (Lenin) and right (Hitler), and they're invariably bad news.

As the project gets in to checking current records have been broken and awarding points to the NHCA rules @claude is struggling. Got the existing records JSON read slightly wrong and allocated record points for a Top Ten Run. The spec was clear. No substitute for human testing!

Well that was an intense session with @claudeai ! Getting a live timing web page site to update in near real time using MQTT. Lots of fiddling with JS CSS. Plus the Mosquitto set up stuff for authentication and TLS. Not forgetting the VB .net code to send messages to the broker.

Update: South African scientists confirm that the strain is Andes- which means human-to-human transmission possible between close contacts. Given a high mortality rate and no specific treatments or vaccines, containment super important here. Looks like Spain leading on response (with WHO) now.

Hmm. @claudeai just caused a headache. It used a PDF solution that uses unsigned .DLLs via Nuget. All was fine until a W11 update and now SAC has stopped the VB project running. Got to refactor several modules. Oh well at least Desktop provided a long prompt to pass to CC CLI.

In terms of the breadth and depth of instant recall AND a the ability to string language together in coherent sentences, hard to beat ... So we have to ask what important aspects does LLM based AI lack?

My own title was, “If my friend Claudia is not conscious, then what the hell is consciousness for?”
If Claudia is unconscious, her behaviour shows that an unconscious zombie could survive without consciousness. Why wasn’t natural selection content to evolve competent zombies?
