Pretty much Kikuyu-Luo dynamics. One group uses a subjective premise to view another as inferior and beneath them.
But when you zoom out, we’re all Ngubus (to use your lingo).

Loving yourself and your own people should be a given. It is essential for someone’s sense of self on earth. I wanna hear a Toposa boy saying his people are the greatest to ever live. However, it is important that this self love does not turn into despising/hating others. #SSOX

I’ve made this observation a few times from watching failing 2nd generation immigrant teens in North America.
If a boy says his people are the best, your response should be, ‘thats great, kid. Go on’. Even if he is delusional.
The alternative is a disaster, low self esteem.

@fudoe whatever individuals or families feel isn’t a reflection of the whole group they are describing.
In short, socio-cultural, geographical and linguistic proximities drive barriers. If Aliab Dinka prefer Mundari to Jie because of proximity, it doesn’t mean Jie are lesser.

One time she had a dispute with a customer over 15K and it was deducted from her salary. I think the customer said he gave her 100K to deposit na yeye alisema ilikuwa 85k. the 15K was deducted from her salary the next month. she was depressed that whole month smh.
