@nniaasnice @Wemby_Muse We really questioning the skill of arguably the most impactful defender we've ever seen while also averaging 24 in 29 minutes a game

@nniaasnice @Wemby_Muse Yes I'm biased for thinking the guy 2nd in MVP odds on the 2nd best team in the league is better than the 7th best player in the league like you're implying.

@adamdepmore @VillainHiss @BiasedHouston In what way? If their organization first don't you think they'd be a team 2nd and sacrifice the good of the team by overpaying for KD? "Organization" and "Team" still go hand in hand no matter how you're trying to separate them.

@adamdepmore @VillainHiss @BiasedHouston If he was that important to the Spurs as "an organization first" that you imply that he is then they would've easily beat the offer the Rockets made, considering it wasn't a whole lot, but they didn't. I don't think they'd risk suffering a "massive blow" over a couple extra picks

While you haven’t presented a counterargument, I’ll tip my hat, your response is a noticeable upgrade from the usual “EAD”-level feedback. Let me clarify my position so we can actually have a constructive dialogue. First, you have to view the Spurs as an organization first, team second. From there, you need to understand what they mean by “manifesting the market” and then evaluate how Kevin Durant fits into that objective. Second, Durant is a global icon with deep ties to the University of Texas. His presence in Austin wasn’t symbolic, it was strategic. The Spurs even went as far as to move their UT games to time where KD could play at home (UT). That's a big move from playing during the SXSW week. Next, the fact that his flag flew outside the Moody Center until the day he signed with Houston (and was immediately replaced with Jarrett Allen) tells you everything about the market’s appetite and alignment. This is precisely the territory the Spurs are trying to capture and have done a great job in doing so. Remember, EXPANDING THE MARKET. Durant would have also triggered - Immediate sellouts, ticket market inflation and justifiable increases in season ticket pricing...Not just at Frost Bank Center—but at the Moody Center as well. Now since you are an expert and hold a sound argument, somewhere in your stance, you will know global brands follow global stars. Durant’s portfolio: Nike, media ventures, tech investments, and aspiring partnerships like Sprite (which the Spurs just picked up) would have elevated the Spurs’ sponsorship ceiling overnight. This isn’t hypothetical. It’s how modern franchise valuation works. $300 million is conservative. The Spurs would have also had the best branding to support those I-35 Baseball jerseys. Match that with the “Slim Towers.” Enough said. When you layer all of this onto what the Spurs have explicitly stated and their intent to expand market reach, increase valuation, and shed the limitations of a “small-market” label (we’ve seen how that story plays out, i.e., Kawhi) you’ll see this isn’t a reach. It’s a structured, defensible argument.

@anthonylamNFT @HamDawg115 If an off ball LB is playing 5 yards off the ball (like they all do) and they make a play near the LOS or behind it, that’s called playing DOWNhill. Hope this helps but apparently it’s rocket science to you!

More than just a downhill backer bro.
Breiden Fehoko@BreidenFehoko

@SmaelJr Cj is a downhill backer what’s hard about that to understand? You played in that system. You know what the league has turned into. Cj is a thumper. He’s just not a 3 down backer to me unless he’s hug or mug rushing on 3rd. If you disagree then it’s just Georgia bias bro.

It is truly absurd that the Spurs are a +14.5 NET team in Wemby’s minutes. That is an all-time dominant number. Their defense performs like one of the very best *ever* when he’s on the court. His impact is extraordinary. One of the very best 3rd-year players ever.

I'm going to have a hard time ranking CJ Allen. We are talking about a sub-6-1 linebacker with short arms, who didn't do ANY athletic testing this offseason. AND... his coverage tape at Georgia was ROUGH.

@POAdefenseFC Is it watered down to just being Wemby glaze like you want it to be or is he such a game breaker defensively that you simply can't ignore weighing it heavily when ranking players.

@Coopa_Troopa32 @jtakuz And rookie Point Guards historically struggle their 1st year from 3. I'm not saying Flagg is a bad shooter or even worse than Harper, just pointing out that the "Harper can't shoot" narrative is overblown right now.

@7Bignate @jtakuz Probably because Flagg is the #1 option receiving the most defensive attention playing without a single rotation caliber PG and Harper is a 6th man playing next to multiple all stars 😂.
