Valid concern. Frankly, the entire polling business has turned rogue (barring a few exceptions), if not a joke. No one offers any details on sampling technique, no sample profile, no information on weights or non response or on vote-seats conversion. To be fair, @AxisMyIndia has bothered to put out something on methodology and given vote share break up by weighted demographics, some basis to raise these valid questions. The rest don’t even bother to report their sample size or vote share estimate. They just flash seat forecast and want you to believe it. Clearly, the editors who put it out either don’t bother or don’t know. Sad for a country that has and continues to produced world class statisticians. Can’t some of them step in and conduct an audit of this national shame?

Let me try to understand the Axis My India poll. People were angry with DMK and so voted TVK. So far so good. The AIADMK voter wanting their party to come back voted TVK but the DMK voter voted only DMK. Makes any sense? If a new party takes a large vote share it is usually against the incumbent. My suggestion, while trying to pass a Constitutional Amendment to bring in Women's Reservation & increase the strength of Parliament to 750-815, bring in a law that makes it mandatory for over 80% attendance per session for every Member of Parliament. This includes right from top, from the Hon'ble PM, to the Hon'ble LoP to an ordinary Member of Parliament & failure to have over 80% attendance in two sessions will mean a dismissal as MP. Also each MP has to raise 10 written questions for their constituency per session & a failure of this would mean the MPs will not get their perks as MPs! I am sure you agree with me :
