Hello hello, My simple Org Chart template has reached +$500 with almost 1000 sales & a conversion rate of 31.7%, all from pure organic marketing, mostly from PH + SEO + Gumroad Guess what, someone is putting more time & energy into a Notion/business systems business🤔

@rupertmanfredi i think your issue is thinking about it as a notes app from the beginning, while it never was/is a notes app like a lot of people think unfortunately

I hate to say it – but Notion trying to be the "everything app" is giving me late 2010s decline of Evernote vibes...

@scottastevenson Notion has way too much cognitive overhead for me. My biggest problem is starting and when I was trying out Notion, I spent more time playing around and planning instead of doing. @hackmdio + @obsdmd is my note taking stack

Man I love Notion, but I also wonder if it is hurting organizations the same way object-oriented programming and design patterns did. Everyone is chasing the mirage that one day they’ll find the right model/hierarchy, and that gives any conscientious person a high. But I have yet to meet an org that “figured out” their ideal Notion setup. Beyond note taking, maybe rigid, opinionated, fit-for-purpose software is better. 🤔

I have noticed that within all of their dashboards, a lot of projects get consistently duplicated for categorization purposes. I have seen sometimes 5 versions of the same project just because there is 5 categories. This is bad.

Lack of a flexible categorization system. Almost all of them have tried any tool they could get their hands on, used it for a period of time before finding that it wasn't a good fit for scalability.

Why Notion for project management & not other tools? Two words. Freedom & flexibility. I have had several agency clients contacting me about a better way to do project management, They all had the same unique problem...
