Had an AMC screening of Ferris Bueller's Day Off ruined today by a guy repeatedly throwing things at the screen and using his phone flashlight. There were only four of us in the theater and he seemed determined to make himself the center of attention. Yes, I reported it.

RealD 3D is going to rollout clip-on lenses for moviegoers who have prescription glasses. That’s pretty cool! #CinemaCon

@maxmario9898 @Disney @Marvel Current theaters ruined CinemaScope with their native 1.85 screens showing scope movies letterboxed with no masking.

@Boar4K77 @Disney And THX WAS a scam itself. Was a good idea but failed in execution. Their standards meant nothing.

@Disney So theaters will have to pay for the screens to be certified like they had to for THX. What a scam.

@thegalleren @Disney IMAX sucks. Screens are the wrong ratio, picture is usually dark and they intentionally run many 3D movies in 2D.

@Disney @thehdroom Standards for this will include proper 2.35 ratio screens with side masking, Dolby Atmos, and requiring all 3D movies to actually be SHOWN in 3D, right??? As well as a return to Disney’s ban on pre-movie commercials?

@JosephKahn How about requiring the theaters to not suck? Have good sized 2.35 ratio screens with proper side masking just for starters.

The solution to the theatrical problem is very simple. Extend the time before it goes to streaming. Make it 180 days. 6 months. If you don't watch it in theaters you won't get to see it for a long time. Studios have devalued their product by letting the consumer know there's no urgency. They're going to see it for "free" later. They've cheapened the business into a buffet and violated basic supply and demand.

Disney just ended their Home Entertainment Division, does this mean anything? Not really...As long as any movie studio allows their films to be licensed, then the future of Physical Media is bright. @JeffRauseo youtube.com/watch?v=T_sVSs…

Checking out the brand new ScreenX at AMC in Burbank. It’s currently the only AMC with ScreenX in California. Just opened last month. The other ScreenX is in Las Vegas. Best of all, it’s included with the A-List membership. 👍 Let’s see how Super Mario Galaxy looks on this 🍄🍿

Hopefully this isn’t controversial, but if I’m paying for a streaming service, there shouldn’t be ads period. Not on Disney+, Amazon, Hulu, none of it. Ads belong on free versions of these platforms. If advertisers are already paying to run their ads, why am I also paying to watch them?
