F1 has to be in a terrible state for me not to particularly look forward to a race weekend. I've witnessed some tough years and I must say I've never felt this lack of motivation before.
And there's a manufacturer working to keep it this way for the next 4 years, who seems to get their way with everything.

@hicasamadim This is a post where we learn how nobody knows much about mechanics, plumbing etc. anymore. Usually it's already been solved before I see the post. I can't believe people don't understand fluid flow.

Jason Aldean walked off the set of Late Night with Stephen Colbert before playing a single note after the “comedian” tried to humiliate him in front of the audience.
“Colbert was introducing him,” said Aldean's manager, Ben Jarroo. “Then he made a crass, unnecessary statement about ‘forgiving him’ for supporting President Trump. Jason wasn’t having it.”
When Colbert said his name and motioned for the curtain, there was nobody there. Aldean and his band had walked off—and they won’t be coming back.

Is this the right way to respond to such behavior, or should it have been handled differently?
Yes or No?

@GarandThumb1 @PeterWrangel I was aircraft maintenance in the Marine Corps. The pilots who flew our F-18's thought I mattered every time they left & returned safely. The troops on the ground thought I mattered when they called for fast movers and they showed up to save their asses. That's it. I did my job.

As a young Airman with my fresh beret I had a SSgt sit me down and tell me tomout my finger in a glass of water. He then instructed me tk remove my finger from the water. “Airman Jones how much did the water level change?” “Nothing, SSgt” “That is your impact on the Military, make sure and take care of your family. You are replaceable”

Coming to the realization that nothing I did mattered.

@AdamCarollaShow @adamcarolla @drdrew Why not just replace the remaining Earth with rebar at that point? You can't trust the Earth to be strong enough alone it's only been around a few years.
English

This is what overengineering and overregulation look like. The foundation alone costs millions.

@0xlordmicky @RealJamesWoods Would not blame him had he decided to seek retribution for the system that made him a criminal when he was innocent. That judge and police department have homes and he had nothing left to lose.

Let me tell you about Michael Morton. He was just a regular guy, an American husband, a father to a five-year-old son, and an office worker. He lived in the suburbs of Austin, Texas.
In August 1986, Michael came home to find police officers all over his house. His wife had been murdered, beaten with a baseball bat and covered with a pillow. The day before, they had celebrated their wedding anniversary. That morning, Michael had left for work at 5:30 a.m. and left a note saying he loved her but was disappointed that they hadn’t been intimate the night before.
The police focused on Michael as their suspect. They said he killed his wife because she refused to have sex. He had never been in trouble with the law, not even a speeding ticket. Still, he was arrested, charged with murder, and sent to prison. He lost custody of his son, who was told that his father had killed his mother.
Michael spent 25 years in prison. He was offered parole if he admitted guilt, but he refused, saying the only thing he had left was his innocence.
There was important evidence, a bloodstained bandana found in an alley near the crime scene. Michael’s defense team asked for it to be tested, even offering to pay for it, but the district attorney refused. They had to fight in court to get permission. When the test was finally done, the blood on the bandana belonged to a different man, a recently released criminal.
As they kept digging, they found even more shocking evidence. Other women in Austin had been murdered the same way after Michael was already in prison. Michael’s wife’s credit card had been used after her death, while Michael was locked up.
Then, another hidden piece of evidence came to light. Michael’s mother-in-law had spoken with her grandson (Michael’s son) about the murder. She asked him who killed his mom, and the little boy said, “A monster.” When she asked if the monster was his father, the boy replied, “He’s not my father.” This statement was kept secret from Michael and his lawyers.
Finally, DNA from another Austin murder was tested, and it matched the blood from the bandana.
After 25 years, Michael was finally released. At a court hearing, the judge apologized for the terrible injustice he had suffered. The real killer was later charged with two murders.
And what happened to the prosecutor who hid the evidence? He was promoted to a judge. Eventually, he lost his law license and was sentenced to jail, but only for ten days.
Michael wrote a book about his experience called Getting Life (2014).
Because of what happened to him, Texas changed its laws. On May 16, 2013, Governor Rick Perry signed the Michael Morton Law, which requires prosecutors to share all evidence in a case to prevent wrongful convictions like Michael’s.
What a painful experience😭😭😭

[NEWS] Dealers are advertising too late in a buyer’s journey:
71% of brands on a buyer's shortlist are chosen before they ever start actively shopping.
The average consideration set has shrunk from 5 brands to 3, so missing the priming stage means not being in the running at all.
Most dealer ad budgets chase bottom-funnel clicks that are cheap, measurable, and according to this study, too late.
Connected TV is the top-performing channel in the priming stage, registering 1.5 times more persuasive than Google, Facebook, and Instagram combined.
What this means for dealers: Shifting even a fraction of spend toward upper-funnel channels is now the difference between being considered and being invisible.

@FloridaThales The Ryobi of today is better than the "Pro" tools from the last 25 years. It's more than good for the average DIY.
English

Yes, Ryobi is low quality and low status. It's also cheap and has a robust ecosystem of tools.
You don't need a Rolls to be an Uber driver picking up drunk retards at the bar. You don't need an awesome drill for basic bitch home DIY.
It's fine for what it is.

I witnessed a man at Home Depot go down a dark path. This choice will lead to a broken home, a promiscuous wife, gay children, and unfinished projects while drinking seltzers. If you don’t take your tools seriously you don’t take your life seriously.

This family ordered pizza to be delivered. The Dominos driver finds the house and then proceeds to back up into the driveway. He hits their truck while doing so.
Amazingly, he gets out and doesn’t even look for the damage. He grabs the pizza hot carrying case and proceeds to go give them their pizza. 🤯
Just before he pulled in, their son was outside with his girlfriend and they saw it. I’m guessing the driver was hoping he had not seen it. But the son had gone inside and told his parents.
They said the driver didn’t mention anything and proceeded to deliver their pizza. But, they mentioned it and told them they saw it.
They walked out to the truck but apparently he hit the tire and luckily there was no damage. They let it go at that. That’s what they said! 🤷♂️
Everyone makes mistakes, but, you should be teaching your kids to own up to their mistakes and as an adult, you don’t pretend you didn’t make one. 💯
Would you let it go at that? Would you call his location and let them know what happened? Or, would you just let it go like they did? Whatever happened to honesty and integrity?
English

@FaithInElon @ClownWorld You have no idea what you are talking about. The average truck driven daily for six years is 100k miles. You will be lucky to make it that long without major expense. A transmission or engine fails, you're out 50% of the trucks value.
English

@ClownWorld A $90k Ford truck will last your entire lifetime.
An electric vehicle at same price will last 20 years max.
English

@ClownWorld I'm 53, I have a 2019 with 106k on it that I had to replace the transmission myself because it failed prematurely & they want ridiculous prices to fix it. I will probably never buy another new truck. My next truck will probably be a 1979. My daily is a Lexus so I don't break down
