South Africa has just opened its first-ever fine water tasting experience - where you can pay money to taste rare waters from around the world…🧐💧 The Fine Water Company has opened an official tasting room at Lanzerac wine estate in Stellenbosch. This is undoubtedly one of the more original retail activities that I have seen open up on any wine farm in SA. South Africa’s first-ever certified water sommelier, Nico Pieterse, will guide you through the 45-minute tasting session, where you will taste 6 waters in total (3 still and 3 sparkling). Here you will sample rare waters from around the world, including: • Ancient springs in Spain • Snowmelt from glaciers in the Czech Republic • Water filtered through volcanic rock in Peru • Water carbonated through grape fermentation with a subtle fruity flavour It’s hosted at The Library, and you can make a reservation on Dineplan. The cost is R350 per person and they also include wine in the pairing to demonstrate “how the right water can transform the taste of both food and wine” So there you have it - South Africa’s first fine-water tasting experience. I promise I didn’t make any of that up - that’s literally their copy. Throw in a few seductive adjectives to describe the droplets, and suddenly it’s liquid luxury. Not to be funny (and don’t judge me) but I drink tap water, so this is a whole new level of EXTRA for me🤣 So, which of my followers are going to pay money for a water tasting?
