In times of a geo political shock, market reacts to news not economic numbers. Investors assess what happened in last 18 hours that market was closed. Pick the best piece of news.
Decide if it was a good news or bad news. Then within first 15 minutes of the day, tone is set. Seen the behaviour continuously in last 6 weeks. Such extreme volatility can be disturbing for new investors. Painfully loss making for leverage investors and brutal for short term wanna be rich overnight investors.
Focus on the performance of the companies. Is company doing well this month? Has there been change in the profits outlook? How will Post Iran war look like. Who are beneficiaries? Am I adequately positioned? Which stocks should I buy more? How will Pakistan's dynamic change in peace time Post war?

Wonderful news that US is inching towards making a deal with Iran showing flexibility. It is because of China and Russia's involvement.
But praises for Pakistan & most importantly Field Marshal Munir are the kind of stepping stones you need to reduce your perception arbitrage.
It is in Pakistan's interest to convince Iran and US to come to a Middle ground as a neighbour to Iran, misunderstood country and repairing ties with US while maintaining GCC friendly ties.
Ofcourse the investors would rejoice such statements. Post war and peace scenario can give strong impetus to a newer Pakistan. It is time to fix structural domestic economic inefficiencies.

Key events of the weekend:
1) US Iran talks: Pakistan formed a fantastic global stage and strengthened its role and reputation as global peace maker.
2) Pak US bond: For sure under Trump administration and subsequent elections for Republican party, Pakistan has developed strong clout.
3) JD Vance President Candidacy: Current PML N and CDS Asim Munir would be in good books if JD leads in the next elections and wins it.
4) Saudi Finance Minister: Along with the interest in US Iran talks, the repayment to UAE is clearly being arranged from Saudi and Qatar. We know which doors are opening wider.
5) Saudi Defence Pact: Reportedly Pakistan has mobilised aircrafts for Saudi protection. That increases probability of escalation but also encourages Iran to come to middle ground
6) Russia Iran: Putin and Iranian President have spoken after the talks. Pakistan was a mediator, host and well wisher. Only Russia and China can bridge the gap now. They will.
7) Strait of Hormuz: US has now decided to strategically block all sources of revenue for Iran. This will hurt China, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, South Korea. These economies will panic if SOH is blocked for 2 to 4 more weeks. Previously, they had special permission.
Our best hope is another round of negotiations and both parties using diplomacy to come to middle ground and even temporary win win or delays in enrichment and no tolls on Hormuz.
This is not a trade war or tariff discussions. Or even a trading or investment decisions. Lives have been lost. Leaders have been killed. Allies have been economically jolted and military has been dispatched. Let's hope the next huddle ends in peace InshaAllah.

Question: How to earn 1.25 lacs a month from 1 crore capital through PSX?
A) Long term returns of 15-20% return per year is expected. But if you are withdrawing all gains or 1-1.25% every month, you will not enjoy compounding.
B) Focus on reducing your expenses from 1.25 lacs to 1 lac a month or do side gig to earn extra 20 to 30k a month through tuitions or Ndrive etc
C) There are fantastic long term stocks which have given higher than 15% per year return for decades.
D) The real deal is to target effective dividend yield of 6-8% after tax in quality blue chip large to mid caps.
Again don't put all your eggs in one basket. PSX reacts to sentiments and external factors beyond control of investor or investment managers. Do find a job while you are employable.

Good News: IMF expects USD 20 to 50B loans to countries affected by Iran and US war's impact on Energy prices.
FX reserves worries solved for Pakistan. Given the mediation and right policy making, expect some leniency and maybe USD 1-2B support.
PKR could be stable. Remittances are also not tumbling yet. If ceasefire holds, growth is back.

KSE-100 jumps 8.5% (14,000 points) - peace & prosperity ahead?
Markets have almost recovered all of the losses since Iran war started end of February. That shows the level of optimism of investors today. Especially when Pakistan takes a lead role in global peace keeping. Now that's a good headline to make.
Pakistan's good relationship with President Trump and the team can translate into much lasting economic progress. Today's USD 20 decline in Oil prices is just the beginning of Pakistan regaining geo political mileage lost due to decades of economic misgovernance. Maybe restart Iran Pakistan gas pipeline?
However, two weeks of ceasefire is not enough. Talks may derail on pressing issues such as Hormuz Strait fees, Uranium enrichment or ceasefire in Lebanon. It is too early to say. The fact that much destruction has happened already in Iran, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia end to hostilities is warranted.
To recall, yesterday Pakistan’s PM spoke to Saudi MBS and condemned Iran attack on Saudi Industrial City. So did the military huddle. There were risk of Pakistan defence pact with Saudi being activafed. Iran has been pushed by China and Russia also to come to a Middle ground where both countries are presenting a win win and achieving military objectives.
Peace can not truly return until Strait of Hormuz is reopened, US takes its military feet back, Oil and LNG and Fertilizers can move easily to previous 50 to 60 ships a day. Meanwhile, Pakistan can enjoy decrease in Petrol and Diesel prices, remain in the IMF profeam, avoid fiscal damage and reduce chances of interest rate hike later this month.
Peace brings prosperity. Well done Pakistan. KSE-100 onwards and upwards!
