@erling Congrats fella, happy for you. But I hope you calm down for the next match :)
English

@MTashed @syku123 Sure, but there is opportunity cost you could put time/money into other things. Btw the biggest risk isn't competition the biggest risk is what happens in the first 6 months of development. I sincerely wish you luck but I think you are too nice to do what will need to be done :)
English

@AC0DEM0NK3Y @syku123 Can fail at everything in life. Risks on this type of thing are really high due to competition.
I'm pretty aware it is an uphill battle with all the talented people in this industry!
English

@SandyofCthulhu @GameStalgiaX No, the main people playing games back then were kids and kids do not have money, for a PC nevermind the games.
I could buy only a handful of full price games a year and in 1996 when Quake came out my money was going to Super Mario 64.
You expected money that didn't exist.
English

F*ck pirates, as a man who designed video games from 1988 through 2012.
70-90% of Doom's players pirated it. If not for that we would literally have had so much more for our workspace and upcoming projects - Quake may not have gutted id Software. At least 50% of Age of Empires was pirated which helped lead to our MicroSoft buyout and eventual demise.
And your excuses of "we have to try before we buy" are complete bullsh*t. Doom let you play a full 9 levels free. Age of Empires let you play a battle free to see how it worked. We bent over backwards to ensure you'd know what you were getting into.
Damn pirates are the guys who killed game companies. like Atari, Amiga, Cinemaware, 3D Realms (Duke Nukem!)
And if you're NOT a pirate, I salute you. You are a gentleman and if you ever see me at a convention, walk up and say, "Hey Sandy, I never pirated a game." and I'll buy you a drink.
English

@SandyofCthulhu I agree, Doom was the game that changed everything.
English

How Quake ruined id Software.
There has been a lot of praise of Quake of late, with its 30th anniversary, and it's deserved. Quake is an amazing feat of art, programming, and design. I worked on it, and everything came together almost perfectly from all of us. We ended up with a free-wheeling, frenetic action game with enough of a visible world to grip the imagination.
All the team did a brilliant job, fulfilling tasks just right. But at a grim cost. We worked long and hard, and I think it broke us spiritually.

@Boatercyclemon @A_dmg04 Appreciate it, but if we can get contents and pricing from the official community manager @A_dmg04 that would be best. It's less than a week from release, the content and pricing details should have already been decided and can (and should) be released already.
English

@AC0DEM0NK3Y @A_dmg04 The pack releasing on the 9th will include dungeon keys as well so I believe that’ll be the better deal
English

@Destiny2Team Can you make it clear what is the thing to buy for returning players? I imagine many are returning after TFS and don't know what to buy, EoF, Renegades and do these include dungeons? If we buy a "pack" is it discounted for what we already own etc etc.
English

@ARCRaidersGame Trials are the worst designed aspect of the game. Needs a complete overhaul.
English

Trials Season 2 concludes with style! 🔥
Raiders who climbed to the lofty heights of Daredevil rank will be rewarded with the Alpino outfit, with alt colors unlocked for the bold Raiders who pushed into the summit of Hotshot and Cantina Legend 🏔️
As the final Trials clock ticks down, what rank did you earn this season?

English

@geoffkeighley Dude what were you thinking hyping this, this much? It's the most aggressively mid game I've played in quite some time. Uninstalled, let's pretend this never happened.
English

@bigcontentguy Not done it roped, but done a few mountains with baby on the back. Apart from them having to be wrapped up for the weather, no probs. They love it.

I spoke with Governor Walz today, and what was clear — as it has been throughout his career — is that his decisions are always guided by what’s best for the people of Minnesota.
Tim has spent his life in public service putting Minnesotans first, leading with integrity, compassion, and a deep respect for working families. His decision not to seek reelection reflects that same selfless commitment to the people he serves. I want to thank him for his extraordinary leadership.
Doug and I wish Tim, Gwen, and the entire Walz family the very best in their next chapter. Our country is stronger because of Tim’s service, and I am deeply grateful for his friendship.

@ElesdeeGaming @ARCRaidersNews Same. The pod is complete but I'm not wasting my time grinding the 5M. I thought the idea for the wipe is to let people have fun at the end yeeting their hoarded items not hoard more. Epic misstep.
English

@ARCRaidersNews I was going to at first. I prepped and everything. Now I feel like the trade off isn’t worth it.
English

@DatGuySolid @ARCRaidersGame A community event for it would have worked too. 5 mill value needed is not respecting time of those who have family commitments etc.
English

Max stash size is 280. If you had all 280 slots filled with an item worth $10K you’d have $2.8M stash value, still needing $2.2M in coins…
Basically you need to run free loadout, get all the trinkets in the world, sell everything on return, and rinse/repeat.
This is not fun gameplay. This isn’t what the end game of each 60 day reset should look like. It should be fighting Arc Bosses for high value loot or PvP/PvE milestone exclusive cosmetics.
-Kill 100 leapers = Leaper Outfit+ $300K towards the $5M reset total.
-Every raider killed = $1K towards the $5M reset total
-1000 Raider kills = PvP exclusive outfit + $1M off reset total (Max $1M)

📡 Attention, Raiders!
After a minor delay in the tunnels, the Expedition departure window will open on Dec 17; this is your Raider’s chance to roll out in the Caravan you’ve built and leave the Rust Belt behind.
Prepare to start a fresh new adventure with a brand new Raider, and a whole new story to write.
Wondering what this means for your journey? The new blog has all the info:

@CohhCarnage @EmbarkStudios I tend to agree, I think they should do an iteration of trials instead for this that is cumulative and you get points based on score against arc etc.or donation or arc materials to speranza. it would fit with the narrative of leaving speranza behind with a safer topside and mats.
English

I love @EmbarkStudios' Expedition concept and such but one issue that we're seeing here that is majorly unfortunate is they've flipped the script on the idea of "the wipe".
Before, it was kinda a joyous time before a wipe. Let me use everything I've been saving! All my gear is going to be wiped anyway! I've been holding onto all this stuff for so long now it's time to USE IT!
But instead it's the opposite now. Although the 5mil bank does signal it's an super end-game mechanic, so many people feel the onus to do it that it's ruining their current experience. "I'm just going to use free loadouts forever" is now becoming a very real thing. That goes against a lot of what makes the game fun!
This is an interesting design quandary for Embark. I think there going to need to do some pivoting here.
English

@DrDisrespect Imho they should have done their own twist, take the 128 players they can do, split into 4 teams and give each team a commander role that issues orders (like BF2 commander).
English

@MarkJCarney He was a major part of the failures of the previous decade of "leadership". I hope you see now you inherited a bunch of cretins and need a clearout.
English

Whether in civil society or in Cabinet, Steven Guilbeault’s leadership to advance sustainability has consistently shaped a more hopeful horizon for future generations.
As Prime Minister, I have been deeply grateful for his counsel and contributions to our new government, which shares his fundamental commitment to climate ambition and climate competitiveness for Canada.
While we may have differing views at times on how exactly we make essential progress, I am glad Steven will continue to offer his important perspectives as a Member of Parliament in our Liberal caucus.
Canada’s new government is committed to a building a sustainable economy through ambitious investments undertaken in a process of cooperative federalism and in full partnership with Indigenous peoples. A climate strategy based solely on regulations and prohibitions will not achieve our climate objectives not least because it will fail to generate the alignment of interests required for this historic undertaking.
Through its nation building projects, its Climate Competitiveness Strategy, and upcoming nature and electricity strategies, the government will catalyse sustainable investments that will create jobs, improve affordability, build Canada’s independence, and secure sustainable prosperity for future generations.
English

@JDVance How do I triple like this? I didn't vote for those cretins, ftr.
English

While I'm sure the causes are complicated, no nation has leaned more into "diversity is our strength, we don't need a melting pot we have a salad bowl" immigration insanity than Canada.
It has the highest foreign-born share of the population in the entire G7 and its living standards have stagnated.

What happened in Canada will be studied by many historians and economists as the prime example of self-destruction of an otherwise prosperous nation after blindly following left ideology.
