IPE Global was pleased to host the delegation from the African Centre of Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD) at the IPE Global #Headquarters in New Delhi on 25th November 2025, Tuesday. The #delegation was led by Dr. Ousmane Ndiaye, Director General of #ACMAD and member of our High-Level International Advisory Group (#HLIAG), along with other ACMAD colleagues . Together with colleagues from IPE Global, the meeting focused on operationalising the MoU signed earlier this year and identifying priority areas to strengthen #collaboration, particularly across the #African region. ⛈️⛰️ Heavy rains on November 1 triggered deadly landslides in Kenya’s western Rift Valley, claiming at least 30 lives and destroying over 1,000 homes, according to government officials. The overnight disaster struck Chesongoch in Elgeyo-Marakwet County, an area battered by intense rainfall during the short rainy season. 🚨 Public Advisory: · Follow all evacuation orders immediately. · Avoid travel near affected areas and steep slopes. · Stay alert for more mudslides as ground remains saturated. 🚑🚁 Emergency Responders: · Proceed with search and rescue cautiously due to unstable terrain. · Humanitarian agencies should prepare for displacement and rising needs for shelter, food, and healthcare. 📢 Government Action · Coordinate closely with disaster teams for early evacuations. · Enforce land-use and construction rules in high-risk zones. · Accelerate long-term mitigation measures.
