@larschigi @rickmcmichael I failed extra by a couple questions so just took it again the next day and passed. The online exams make this much easier, as they’re given multiple times a day. If you are getting 80% on practice, start taking it.

@HamRadioOutlet I edc the Baofeng mini or Kenwood D75 most of the time. The frequency sniffer on the Baofeng is fun. I used to carry the Icom 52a but the knob for volume and channels don’t turn fully independently anymore.

I finally canceled my X subscription. This platform has become way too much hateful political noise... on both sides. I follow a lot of people because they’re #hamradio operators, but too many timelines have turned into nonstop political ranting. I’m stepping away. I really have zero interest in all that. Honestly… when was the last time you changed someone’s mind by yelling on social media about politics? And when has anyone changed yours by ranting on social media? It feels so pointless. I may pop in from time to time, but for the most part… I’m out. 73 y'all!

@whatsupwithsix That's why I created a ham radio centric account. I don't follow anyone that posts political stuff on this account, operator or not. Go through and unfollow everyone posting stuff you don't want to see and you'll have a better experience. I don't even get on my main account much.

@RA4SD Its key points for MW DX are full-band recording and Jaguar compatibility. These were never my main interests and after the Discovery came along I sold it. Performance is excellent with a decent antenna. With small antennas Discovery has way more sensitivity (and CCCanceler!)

Is the Perseus SDR receiver really very good for MW DX? I'm interested in the opinions of its owners. How does it compare to the Airspy? LSB/USB reception on MW DX—does it only work well with the Perseus SDR together with Jaguar? Many thanks.
