I feel like people forget about the 15-inch MacBook Air. While the MacBook Neo and 13-inch MacBook Air have stolen the show over the past year, and the MacBook Pro also gets a ton of attention, the 15-inch is just kinda there. Kinda the sleeper hit of the lineup though.

When comparing prices of whatever laptops this X2EE chip will be in. It’ll definitely be closer to m5 pro pricing level, so makes sense to compare there

@ADarkPrince99 @jimmyjames_tech @MarcTechStream Of course the device matters. The reason they don't have the M5 pro in the MBA is because the chassis has insufficient cooling potential. It's the same reason you don't find desktop CPUs in laptops/tablets. Here we have the equivalent of Apple putting an M5 pro into the MBA.

I’m rooting for Qualcomm. I wish they did beef up the Gpu because I’d like to experiment with it for a bit but that’s my biggest holdout.

Not to mention we really can’t even get the X2EE now, so doubly so the m5 pro is its competition.

I really don't think they care about selling R1 at this point. R2 is the future and R1 is the past. HOWEVER, I will say that the model year cutover is probably coming in Summer - typically in the June/July timeframe. Once the 2027 R1s drop, we should start to see some decent incentives on 2026s.

@jimmyjames_tech @MarcTechStream Fair. Original point stands though, this laptop is in the size/weight class as MBA with what is essentially an M5 pro level CPU. Will be interesting to see how these are priced. Original snapdragon x elite laptops are historically considerably cheaper than rivals.

Finally went to the Apple Store to see the all the MacBook Neo colors. Citrus is awful, and Indigo is quite nice, but would be much better if the keyboard was a darker blue rather than a lighter blue. Blush, of course, remains the best color. The Neo table was very popular. Multiple people buying one. Asked the employee there, she said they've been selling like crazy and can't keep stock! I also overheard a customer correctly say that it has the same chip as his current iPhone and an employee incorrectly say that actually it's the same as the 17 line LOL Also the pink 17e is GORGEOUSSSSS
