Getting rid of our BOB running stroller wrecked me. Our youngest is almost 6 and we haven’t used it in ages. 3 kids. So many adventures. Roads, parks, trails, mountains, and even races. It’s like a car with 300K miles. Endless stories. Fondest memory is an 18 min 5K (~5:50/mi avg) when my oldest daughter was 2 (almost 10 yrs ago). Wish it was higher res, but I’ll forever love this pic. Poor #872 tried to pass us w 50m to go. We weren’t having it. The expression on my face says it all. If you have stroller age kids, savor it. Soon you’ll be cleaning out the garage and realize those days are over. 😭

@DanReese21 Totally agree! We love visiting Detroit from Cleveland. There are many things they do that we can learn from.

To be clear, I'm not saying Detroit is some utopian society. I'm simply saying there's a large gap in national perception vs reality. Detroit is deeply imperfect, but there are some good things happening. Both can be true. Please re-read the post before rage commenting.

What US city has the largest gap between national perception and reality? My answer: Detroit Everyone seems to think it’s a run down hell hole w nothing but boarded up buildings. In reality: > Completely rejuvenated downtown w businesses, residential, restaurants, & nice sports venues – Ford Field (Lions), Comerica Park (Tigers), Little Caesars Arena (Pistons & Red Wings) > One of the best airports in the country – Delta hub w direct flights all over the world > Tons of history, culture, and classic architecture > Diversifying economy beyond auto into tech, medical, etc. > People are genuinely nice but also super tough & resilient Of course it’s not all unicorns and rainbows. While some parts of the city are making a comeback, others are being left behind. There’s crime, traffic and all the other things most big cities battle. But if Detroit has a national reputation of 1/10, in actuality I think it’s more like 7/10.
