My beloved mom passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024. She loved fiercely, laughed loudly and welcomed everyone (and anyone) into her home and heart. We will honor my mom this Sat, June 22, 2024 (details below). Please feel free to join us as we remember her.

Truth. But, it is an odd position to occupy. Working *on* and *in* neurotech often feel incompatible. Something about Quine, holism, and the difficultly of changing single sentences within a science without accepting large parts of the whole theory, including choice of language.

This! Patient advocates (and participants) are experts. I would add that engagement with them is crucial from and ethical and regulatory perspective. Very honored to moderate a symposium on this at the upcoming BRAIN investigators meeting. @NeurotechNetwk @USBrainAlliance

Tldr: the ethical ideal of patient-centered communication should be animated by an openness to diverse modes of communication and a commitment to promoting the conditions that enable participation in healthcare communication for all patients. We are not currently doing this well.
