@nbastats Donovan Mitchell had 4 rebounds please make the correct change

@whitesox White Sox fans — the Murakami signing is going to be a disaster. Why spend that kind of money on a guy who struck out a ton in a league well below MLB competition? You also have no idea how the ball plays in Japan compared to MLB. Paying superstar money for an unproven player is a massive gamble. I’m calling it now — this ends badly.

@FanDuel_Support Jalen Duren should have 8 rebounds. He had 7 and during the last minute or 30 seconds of the game he deliberately tipped a rebound to his teammate, which should be credited to him according to the NBA rule book.

@nbastats 1:12 in the 4th quarter was a Jalen Duren rebound not Tobias Harris please fix that

Some sobering realities for Chris Getz and the #WhiteSox:
“I DON’T LIKE OUR TEAM.”
-Chris Getz in 2023, and every White Sox fan 3 years later
-The Luis Robert trade is historically bad. Maybe not quite as bad as Fernando Tatis Jr. for 3 months of a past-his-prime James Shields, but it’s close. Luisangel Acuña probably doesn’t belong in Major League Baseball and it’s clear the Mets pulled the ole “Used Car Salesman” tactic on Getzy, and he fell for it. Hard. That alone should get him fired as soon as @jishbia has the ability to make the change. We all know Jerry ain’t firing him.
-Miguel Vargas is not that good. He’s barely replacement level. If this roster were even remotely decent, he’d be a DFA candidate. Another bad trade by Getz. Regardless of whether or not they pan out, there is no way he’s justified keeping his spot on this team over the potential of getting someone like Caleb Bonemer, Billy Carlson, or Roch Cholowksy into the lineup. 2 decent months in 2025 can’t mask his mediocrity anymore. He would be hitting in the bottom of the order every day for any other team, and likely not even starting.
-Sean Burke and Shane Smith are going to be better as relievers than starters. Erik Fedde already looks gassed less than 1 month into the season. Anthony Kay and Davis Martin are the only starters who have a real shot to finish the year in this rotation. Maybe that’s intentional, but with all the rookies they’re going to rely on down the stretch, innings are going to become a real concern soon, and likely a major problem to navigate.
-Not protecting Peyton Pallette from the Rule 5 draft when he was one of the best pitchers in our system last season is humiliating enough. The fact that he wound up in Cleveland should get Getz sent to Guantanamo Bay. The malpractice he consistently participates in is becoming ridiculous.
-Edgar Quero is not a starter, or at least not one that can carry a team. I wasn’t too worried at first, but he’s clearly pressing and honestly might need a reset in AAA. He needs a supporting cast to be effective, and still might well be a good trade candidate, but his value has rightfully fallen. Kyle Teel’s return can’t come soon enough.
-I’m not sure if it’s because they’re just trying to put their worst players through the paces early, but Will
Venable’s lineup cards and bullpen management have been extremely questionable, to put it mildly. Obviously the roster isn’t constructed well, but he needs to be more consistent with order placement, position cards, and using his best arms or he’s going to manage the Sox right into their 3rd straight 100+ Loss season.
-Removing Grant Taylor from the equation, Newcomb, Vasil, and Seranthony are the only RPs with any reliability, and Vasil might not be the same after his injury. Hudson, Leasure, and Hicks are borderline, and really only Leasure has any upside. But if they want to continue down the “Opener” path, Hicks should be their guy for that. Let Taylor and Seranthony handle high leverage if they won’t let Grant be a full time starter, and let Newcomb handle middle relief with Wikelman, who belongs in the Majors.
-We’re 3+ years into the Chris Getz regime and things somehow actually look worse than they did when he took over. He and Jerry Reinsdorf got up in their press conference and defended his hiring by saying it was the fastest way to a quick turnaround and competitive window. Say what you will about John Fisher, at least the Athletics are putting out a competitive team, and they’re in a much better division. Chris Getz is the worst GM in baseball (maybe all of sports) and Jerry Reinsdorf is the worst owner. Their legacy will reflect that when all is said and done, but the end of their era cannot come soon enough. Chicago and its fans deserve so much better.
