I think three things can both be true:
We should just let trans people use the bathroom of choice.
They cannot change the sex they were born as. They can change their gender and secondary features, and appear as if they have changed their sex.
As a mark of respect, we should refer to them using their preferred pronouns.
That seems the most reasonable approach based on all the evidence and science.

@AllyBrisket Yes that's the closest I've seen to 'unisex' changing rooms as well. He's either lying, or doesn't go to clothes shops very often.

Genuinely, where do you shop? As a man the closest I’ve come to unisex changing room is one entrance to changing area but women to the left and men to the right with a member of staff in the middle. Male only changing rooms are everywhere.

Most clothing stores I’ve been to in the last 39 years have had unisex cubicles for changing rooms. Why are we pretending this is in any way new, or illegal? It’s not.

Walking away from a female customer who is worried about being undressed in front of men in changing rooms, and calling her "abusive" for asking about it, is not a good look @marksandspencer. I wouldn't go near that store.

Colchester @marksandspencer I asked where the women’s changing room was to try on swimwear. Manager Andrew (he/ his /him) says gender neutral changing areas are “completely safe” for women and girls. For asking him this question, he told me to leave the store. @SexMattersOrg

If trans women use men’s toilets, they will be subjected to humiliation, abuse and violence. Anyone with any sense knows this. Which is why in practice trans women will not use men’s toilets, and will just increasingly be driven out of society.

To the gay men quietly afraid to say what they actually think:
You do not have to conform to every ideological trend just to appear compassionate or enlightened.
You’re allowed to value masculinity.
You’re allowed to want male-only spaces.
You’re allowed to say “this doesn’t align with me.”
Having boundaries, preferences, and standards is not hate.
Not everyone belongs everywhere, and that’s okay.

@edtchirp Gay men are allowed to have their own spaces. Gay rights revolve around homosexuality as the protected characteristic of same-sex attraction. 'Trans men' are also allowed to have their own spaces. They do not belong in gay men's spaces. They are women. Women cannot be gay men.

Really appreciate the phrase "as a cis man" here, as it immediately marks David out as being ideologically captured. This tells us his words cannot be taken in good faith, which is a shame, given the subject matter. The term 'cis' is redundant. Only biological males can be men.

So about 15 years ago I attended the breast screening clinic as I had a lump that had appeared in my chest.
It turned out to be benign breast tissue growth (gyno) and nothing serious.
Weird how I, a cis man, was able to attend this kind of service, but trans women now can't.

@BBCNews I hate talking about this, but this will just not fucking work. I mean it's completely unenforceable, and what exactly are the reprocussions if a trans person is found there? All to solve a problem that didn't exist.
I feel something unpleasant will happen because of this.
