🚨🧨 JUST IN: Arsenal fans set off fireworks near Atlético Madrid’s hotel in London at around 1:30 AM, while the players were asleep. A group approached the hotel in an attempt to disrupt their rest. More than one player and staff member were affected. Atlético reacted quickly, reporting the incident and detailing the sequence of events to UEFA. Despite the hotel being in a well-located area of the city, those responsible were able to get close to the team’s base without obstruction. [via @marca]

@thearsfamily97 Control doesn't equate to attacking prowess. Also if you want to play that game we had 2 shots when Gyokeres came on before Saka came in and knitted the attack. It wasn't a case we just lost Havertz but Eze too so I'm not blaming Gyokeres but he couldn't build up at all.

In the first 34 minutes, before Havertz went of, Newcastle forest 7 shots, we fired 3. They had 1 big chance, we had 0. They had more xG than us. Possession was also equal (majority of our possession came in the first 10 mins) You don't need to lie. We only had control until the goal, then we retreated. It's not a Havertz v Gyökeres matter. With either one, we weren't good. Statistically, we were even better in the second half.

Exactly. 💯 Immediately after we scored in the 4th minute, we were overwhelmed. Don't let anyone gaslight you with Havertz vs Gyökeres nonsense. We were second best with both players from the fourth minute to Halftime... and we were roughly even throughout the second half. Fatigue plays a huge part in it ngl.

Arsenal didn’t control this game. They scored early, but Newcastle’s man-oriented press forced them backwards: → deeper block → less possession → game management over dominance This was more about holding on than taking control.
