@markgoldbridge @bethTmufc He’s got no attacking threat now but always good on the ball and sound defensively. Dalot is no different. Both could be upgraded but neither are an issue.

@PhilipProudfoot @JamesMainw41767 Because there will be no jobs as most independent small businesses will be insolvent. Keep increasing minimum wage and unemployment goes through the roof. Young people that live at home with their parents etc and have minimal outgoings don’t need to be earning £15ph. They suffer

@JamesMainw41767 I don’t think a small business is viable if it can’t afford to pay its workers enough to live on. I don’t see anything you’ve said here that disproves my point?

Don’t particularly feel sorry for any business owner whose enterprise is only viable because they pay poverty wages.
Peter McCormack 🏴‍☠️🇬🇧🇮🇪@PeterMcCormack

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.

@markgoldbridge Apart from the first 10 mins and a few moments on the counter, Brentford outplayed us for much of the game. On about day, we lose 5-2. Carrick may have results on his side but luck even more so.

Fantastic result. But yet again it's a grinding out result over any real hint of performance. Hard to see what next season will be like with double the amount of games playing like this. And without Casemiro.

@MartinSLewis People don’t understand bitcoin. Similarly people don’t understand the origins of money and how modern society has destroyed it and economies through inflation. Own hard assets. Bitcoin not crypto is where the value lies. Wider crypto is more like investing in tech stocks

I've taken my poll to see how many people hold crypto down. It was an interesting question, but sadly sometimes on X it's just not worth the abuse (some of it quite bizarre, I think some people don't realise the poll is anonymous and I can't see who votes what!)

For everybody asking what is happening with me. I am ready to fight anytime but one man is trying to ruin my career: Ben Shalom. I don’t understand why he is doing it. He has been earning money from me for years and years and has kept me tied up in a contract. My lawyer has confirmed that my contract with him is finished. I try to move on and he sends crazy emails to everyone blocking me from fighting and earning a living. He is trying to scare me saying he will sue everyone if I fight and don’t pay him. I fight to provide for my family, not for Ben Shalom. He is not my promoter. I am ready to fight but I will not pay that man another cent.😡

@2147mill People have invested trillions into a gold rock for hundreds of yrs. Bitcoin is harder, stronger, faster, and smarter than gold and any money that has preceded it. A business built on BTC not the FIAT PONZI is a safer bet for me. Maybe in 10 yrs when it’s over $1m you’ll agree

Risks - correct me if I’m wrong? No real operating cash flow backing dividends Depends heavily on: Bitcoin price Continued investor demand Dividend can be changed anytime If demand drops, they may need to: Increase yield aggressively Issue more shares (dilution pressure)

Cancelled SKY today. Latest increase was to £108.50 just for a TV package. Sky News is unwatchable, football is akin to loose women, dramas are infested with woke virtue signalling. About 90% of channels are just fillers. They offered a reduction to £87.50. Gone after 25+ years.

@AdamBLiv So when it passes $100 he buys but if it stays under $100 he doesn’t? I assume the 11.5% monthly dividend is unaffected by either or does that he conditions to trigger?

So current state of play between Bitcoin adoption and infrastructure in the USA and the UK. Disclaimers. THESE ARE ALL BITCOIN INITIATIVES AND NOT THE WIDER MISCLASSIFICATION OF CRYPTO with some exception of stablecoins in point 2 below. 1. Bitcoin Mining in the USA is around 42% of the the global market. UK pretty much at 0% 2. Bitcoin recognised as colllateral for down payments for real estate purchases through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. UK classifies Bitcoin as a restricted mass market investment !!! 3. @Square today launch Bitcoin payments across 4 million USA retailers. UK has around 150,000 @Square merchants with zero Bitcoin functionality allowed yet. 4. @MorganStanley are launching their own Bitcoin ETF with 16,000 advisors soon to be selling the product into their $6 trillion of managed money. UK doesn’t allow retail investors to buy these products and brokers like @HLInvest @ajbell seem reluctant to acknowledge the industry. Someone is wrong here. Either the USA is backing exposure to a horrific Ponzi scheme as per @BorisJohnson comments a couple of weeks ago or the UK is dropping the ball on one of the most exciting and disruptive technologies ever discovered. There is no middle ground here. I know which side I’m on and would urge some cross party discussion with haste @UKLabour @reformparty_uk @RestoreBritain_ @Conservatives @TheGreenParty @LibDems and we @BitcoinColl and the UK Business Network will assist alongside many others listed below. @2147mill Because we love Bitcoin and we want Saylor to succeed in his mission to create digital capital. His reserves mean he has enough to cover dividend payments for 2 yrs if Bitcoin doesn’t grow which is not going to happen. He’s created a cheat code that people refuse to accept

@btcjvs I assume the only benefit of STRC is the dividend payout as the share price will always stay under a $1? Therefore whilst attractive if you want low risk & volume, the most you will see as a return is the 11.5% on your investment?

If you are buying STRC in the UK, it is a lot more tax efficient to buy it via the 21Shares ETP. The 21Shares STRC ETP is issued by 21Shares in Switzerland and structured as a listed security (in Switzerland). This means gains on sale are generally subject only to Capital Gains Tax (CGT) in the UK, with no income tax on the product itself. If you buy STRC directly it is subject to both income and CGT. However, unlike in the US where the monthly distributions are treated as Return of Capital (ROC) (non-taxable, reducing cost base).
