ARE PUBLIC SCHOOLS SAFE? It started like any other school day. Lockers slamming. Hallway chatter. Teachers calling out reminders about homework. Kids moving to their next class is where the confrontation takes place. Two girls stepped into her path. Their faces weren’t smiling. They weren’t joking. They were looking for a fight. They circled her. She tried to walk away. Within seconds, it became two on one. They swung. They shoved. They dragged her down to the floor. The hallway that once felt normal now felt like a battleground. Teachers rushed in too late to stop the first blows. The damage was already done…not just bruises, but something deeper. Fear. Humiliation. The feeling that nowhere is truly safe. Students are told school is a place to learn, grow, and feel protected. But when bullying turns violent in broad daylight, you have to ask: Are public schools truly safe for our kids or are we ignoring warning signs until it’s too late?

@coachzblair10 Giving up is one thing. But sometimes you just need someone to talk to about said failure. It’s ok to need to process failure by discussing with someone who’s walked the walk.

Parents: When you constantly save your player from adversity, you are prohibiting them from developing the proper skills to become not only a mentally tough athlete but an adult who can deal with the struggles of life. I will never understand what is so wrong with players failing. It's the most important building block of success. Some parents just can't handle it, so they think they have to run to their kids' rescue. Most of the time, the parent isn't saving their player they are saving themselves. Who's pain are you trying to cure? Yours or your child's? Parents don't even realize it, but they have to stop building their own self-esteem by stealing it from their children.
