Takeaways from Matvei Michkov's press conference - - Expressed frustration with the way he played in the playoffs. Said he saw a lot of kids wearing his jersey and was ashamed he couldn't score. - Multiple times mentioned he wants to play next year like he did after the Olympic break this season. He wants to come back even better. - Spoke about how much playing with Noah Cates helped his game. - Seems to be confusion on his end on what the organization wants to see from him - he is meeting with management on Thursday.

Michkov didn’t show up in shape and ready for the season. Point blank dude, the rest of the team did. We brought him into the NHL a year earlier than expected anyway….Had Michkov put the work in during the offseason and came to camp ready to be better than he was his first season that’d be a different story. Mich learned a valuable lesson this year. Can we all put this shit to bed … Mich goes beast mode next year.

At the end of the day it’s obvious that Mich was punished this season for the way he showed up to camp, how he was out of shape after partying all summer and not training. That kind of behavior just cannot be tolerated. Period. I really hope he works his ass off this off season and in camp and lands on the top line where he belongs.

The problem with the NHL Playoff Format is the matchups are all over the place. We just got the 1-seed vs the 8-seed in the 2nd Round instead of the 1st Round. The Hurricanes swept the Flyers with ease. I want great teams battling deep in the Playoffs. Not what we just saw.

@mccrystal_alex TK is the current version of Claude Giroux when it comes to the playoffs. Giroux was very good in the regular season but when he was in the playoffs with the Flyers he didn’t ever show up. Same can be said for TK even though it’s his 1st playoffs this season.
