@afern_alex @iamtheeagle1 I do not disagree. He has played up and down the lineup all season with various other linemates, but has never shown the scoring flair he had last year.

Michkov had no points, 1 shot on goal and 4 turnovers last night in a crucial must win game.
He now has zero goals in 11 games and one goal in his last 16 games.
He has got to get scoring!

Since coming back from the Olympic break, Matvei Michkov has 5 power play points -- most on the team in that time frame. So what does Rick Tocchet do? Demotes him to the second power play unit. I'm happy for Martone getting this opportunity, I really am, but why must Michkov be the one to be demoted when he's arguably been your best power play guy as of late?

Say whatever you want about Rick Tocchet as a coach but he shows his players respect. I truly believe the fact he was a player himself only bodes well for the Flyers and the development of some of their younger talent.
Development is not a linear path.

Go look at the PPTOI over last couple games and use as examples MM on PP1 and Tippett on PP2.

@user10162002 @JimIkeHW Hang on now we are complaining about where MM is on the powerplay? You do know the Flyer's pretty much split their power play time. It's not like the Oilers where the second powerplay get 20 seconds.

Teams won 6/7. In the thick of a playoff race. Top prospect playing PP1. Big body for around goal. Michkov producing.
Somehow people can only think to bitch about Bump. It’s made being on here insufferable.

@alex46432915 @FlyersNation My main gripe is Cates on the PP1 over Michkov. That makes next to no sense. Yeah he’s maybe scrappy in front of the net, but he’s not got the size. Some of the decisions Toch makes just boggle my mind.

@Anth_Chatburn I think they put up too many obstacles….third line mins and linemates, not on PP1, not playing in OT, playing LW, constant media criticism. Think it just all snowballed to kill any confidence he had.

The argument the participation trophy kids all seem to be making is that Michkov lacked the talent or general hockey skill to play LW.
I can’t believe that. I’d much rather believe he was a pouting diva than incapable.
I don’t think he’s either.
