Excited to share our work on in-hospital patient portal use in surgical patients. Patient portals may be an underappreciated communication tool during an admission. Patients use them! @JAMASurgery

@BrooketheOstomy Yes @UTSWSurgeryLife we usually had a mix of junior and senior residents on “sick float” rotations for a few weeks at a time throughout the year. Great system, was utilized heavily. Major credit to: @audra_clark87 @dallastrauma @kburke32

@DGlaucomflecken Lost 60ft elm in a bad storm last month. Previous owners had built the back deck around it. It was so awesome. Entered into a deep state of mourning when it came down…. Still pretty bummed!

Growing up, we had an oak tree and 2 pecan trees, among others. My dad would obsess over these trees. Often he would just be outside looking at them. "They're just trees," my 12 year old brain would say. Now I get it.
