We received this from a worried constituent with an elderly mother in the area. The fire is causing a lot of smoke and health concerns and disruptions. But there’s absolutely nobody to talk to. Democrats are hanging their constituents out to dry.

Of course, a socialist's definition of "competition" is one where they've already tilted the playing field heavily in their favour using state money which was acquired by taxing their competitors. New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced the location of the city’s first publicly owned supermarket, marking a step towards delivering on his pledge to bring down the cost of food. It's amazing, but if you cut off access to downtown to create empty bike lanes and if you fill it up with homeless people, drug addicts and illegals that do not pay skyscraper rent then the city core dies. Half billion dollar buildings are being offered for $100 million. Decades of legislation by juveniles in the legislature have wrecked the entire state. 700 - 800 pieces of nuisance legislation every year compounds into Animal Farm on steroids. I was born here and it breaks my heart. We had a wonderful city center and a fabulous state with incomparable weather. Now it is all in hock to ideological vandals all wanting to grow up to be Karen Bass.

Met a guy recently. Just retired at 63. $2M saved. House paid off. Zero debt. Did everything right for 30 years. Claimed Social Security early. Started pulling $110,000 a year from his IRA. Nobody told him those two decisions would collide. 85% of his Social Security is now taxable. His bracket jumped. Tax bill his first year of retirement was bigger than when he had a paycheck. And in two years when he hits 65 and goes on Medicare, IRMAA kicks in and his premiums spike on top of it. His advisor never saw it coming. Who was supposed to catch that?
